From our Southern NH facilities, our established and expanding Precision Strike & Sensing (PS) Business Area is interested in candidates with a strong desire to obtain a long and exciting career within the Design Drafting Department. In PS we provide affordable and highly accurate precision-guided munitions and advanced electro-optical/laser technology that detect and defeat threats to air and ground platforms. We design and manufacture state-of-the-art systems and technology that enable our customers to execute their precision strike missions. Selected person will be assigned to our Nashua NH facility. The Senior Designer position we are seeking to fill requires 12+ years of experience in the Mechanical Design Drafting profession, with a minimum of 3 years specifically assigned Senior role. You will be part of a Design & Drafting Community working with the latest CAD technology and processes who are always forward planning with Industry professionals to define future of CAD capabilities including support of Model Based Engineering via Model Based Definition. You also will advance your technical skills while performing your assigned responsibilities on development projects and supporting our existing product portfolio. The individual selected for this position will be an experienced Mechanical Designer who is a problem solver with diverse technical capabilities and sound design and geometrical tolerance fundamentals to support engineering, design, analysis, product definition and product build process. Must also be able to delegate tasks to Designers, Drafters and Checkers from conceptual to production release. The duties assigned to this position, while under the guidance of Program and Engineering Leadership, include the following:

Requirements

  • Associates degree in engineering sciences field or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in the Mechanical Design Drafting profession, with a minimum of 3 years specifically assigned Senior role
  • Familiarity with comprehensive design process including conceptual development, physical design, support to procurement and manufacturing.
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing practices for the efficient fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 2009 or higher
  • Good written, verbal, and virtual communication skills.
  • Proficient using PTC CREO Parametric and file management systems
  • Active DoD Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient using PTC CREO Parametric 10 or higher and PDMLink (Windchill) 12.0 or higher.
  • Proficient with ASME Y14.5-2018 GD&T, Military Standards, ASME Standards.
  • Experience with Dassault Systems 3D Experience PLM.
  • History of leading small design teams while effectively communicating across program functional teams
  • Electro-Mechanical Packaging experience
  • Advanced CAD modeling skills
  • Large CAD assembly modeling skills

Responsibilities

  • Utilize computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools to design components, systems, portions of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve production.
  • Support mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware design efforts from conceptual layouts through detailed design.
  • Conduct design trade studies, volume packaging and tolerance analysis
  • Plan, execute, develop, release and control product definition data (engineering models and drawings)
  • Take ownership of design specifications and ensure they are met on final product.
  • Work closely with technicians in the generation and assembly of prototype/engineering hardware and test equipment.
  • Work within a broader engineering team, capable of communicating across functional boundaries to solve problems and achieve common goals.
  • Create, maintain, and update engineering records and files as appropriate.
  • Perform Configuration Change Orders and Change Actions (ECOs) as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
