About The Position

At KMEC Engineering and Conveying, we design and manufacture a wide range of bulk material handling installations, such as conveyors for overland or floating applications, as well as ship and barge loaders and unloaders. We also design and build radial stackers. Additionally, we manufacture standard conveyors such as belt conveyors, drag conveyors, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators. We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer.

Requirements

Experience in engineering and designing bulk material handling equipment is required
Ability to work independently
Proven ability to work in a team environment and be a self-starter
Written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft office
Must be able to process information and follow the guidelines
Demonstrates understanding and support of company initiatives and direction
Minimum of 10 years bulk material handling design experience.

Nice To Haves

Preferred Bachelors degree or Associate degree from two-year college or technical school
Strong Knowledge of CEMA /understanding of AISC, ASCE, ASME, AWS, OSHA, MSHA standards and practices preferred

Responsibilities

Develop bulk material handling systems designs
Strong knowledge of producing Mechanical GAs, PFD and P&ID
Develop structural (i.e., layouts, plans, elevations, sections & details) drawings within many aspects of Bulk Material Handling, including conveyors, cranes, storage facilities, etc.
Develop detailed drawings of mechanical equipment and supporting structure according to engineering sketches and specifications for bulk material handling systems
Produce 2D drawings in AutoCad and 3D software (Revit, Tekla, SolidWorks,
Occasionally travel to job sites to collect design information
