Reporting to the Commercial Franchise Head – Breast Cancer, the Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) – Breast Cancer will be a key leader in building our small molecule breast cancer portfolio of indications into the standard of care for patients. The successful candidate for this role will be a strategic focused leader with a passion for customer engagement and putting patients first. Your role within the broader Oncology team will be to work collaboratively with your cross-functional partners and the cross business unit marketing teams to share ideas, challenge the standard and work together towards a shared vision of a 100% patient mindset.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent experience in science and/or business
  • Minimum of 5 years related pharmaceutical industry experience including marketing with experience successfully leading a cross-functional team
  • Strong business insight: strong critical thinking and planning skills with ability to implement plans with excellence
  • Solid understanding of Product Management (including brand strategic planning and critical thinking skills) with previous launch experience preferred
  • Financial acumen: inputting on forecast assumptions, budget management and spend optimization and trade-off decisions
  • Strong learning agility and can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • High self-awareness with the ability to lead people and build strong followership across the marketing and cross functional teams
  • Strong influencing skills and communication skills
  • Experience with integrating and leveraging digital and/or AI

Nice To Haves

  • Previous oncology experience (in particular, Breast Cancer) is an asset
  • Experience navigating challenging regulatory and access environments is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the small molecule breast cancer indications at AstraZeneca, leading a cross-functional team to improve the forward-thinking potential of the tumour area through development and execution of the Tumour Strategy, Brand Strategy, and Tactical Plans to achieve business objectives
  • Work closely with the Canadian regulatory and access team to secure new indications and funding
  • Prepare and implement significant customer activities and sales force content deployment, implementing campaigns with a consistent voice across channels
  • Build professional relationships with key external customers to transform the Canadian landscape for patients with breast cancer
  • Develop strong relationships with counterparts across global markets to identify and demonstrate best practices
  • Lead the financial and budget planning processes in conjunction with our forecasting and finance teams
  • Monitor sales and business trends to spot potential opportunities and challenges, taking action to drive impact
  • Responsibility for leading a marketing manager within the team
  • Uphold a best-in-class commercial approach to establish AstraZeneca as leaders in the Breast cancer therapeutic area while encouraging an inclusive high-performance environment that values and leverages diversity
