Senior Marketing Manager: GTM

8th Light
$106,100 - $132,600Remote

About The Position

8th Light is a technology solutions consultancy founded in 2006 and headquartered in Chicago. They partner with organizations from early-stage startups to large companies, tackling complex software challenges to deliver durable results. The company focuses on building agentic products, their supporting platforms, and the engineering and design at every layer. 8th Light values quality, curiosity, continuous education, mentorship, and a collaborative, honest culture that builds trust and focuses on client outcomes. This role is for a hands-on marketer who can translate strategy into content, events, and outreach, understanding that senior buyers are influenced by credible expert voices, real stories, and relationships. The position is an individual contributor role, responsible for the entire marketing function without managing a team. The ideal candidate is comfortable with both detailed tasks like newsletter management and strategic planning like measurement strategy. They prefer shaping expert insights into content over generic email blasts and can guide subject matter experts without being the expert themselves. Accountability for results and ownership of the marketing system are key.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a small to mid-sized company with close-to-execution marketing.
  • Experience marketing technical services like software consulting, data, or AI/ML.
  • Experience running a thought-leadership or named-voice program with subject-matter experts.
  • Fluency with the current AI and agentic landscape, with judgment to assess credibility with senior buyers.
  • Marketing operations and analytics tooling, including SEO and AEO.
  • Experience building or customizing AI-assisted workflows for content drafting, asset generation, and performance tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Instrumenting and running always-on reporting on leading indicators of marketing performance, including content engagement, newsletter growth, website journeys, and event conversion.
  • Analyzing data to make informed decisions on investment, cuts, and channel focus.
  • Owning the editorial calendar across all owned channels to ensure consistent messaging about agentic products and platform expertise.
  • Building and managing the content engine, capturing stories and observations, organizing them, and preparing materials for sales and client service.
  • Elevating senior technologists into a consistent publishing rhythm, helping them translate field experience into strong points of view.
  • Planning and executing small, themed, invite-only executive dinners in hub cities and virtual formats, and repurposing content from these events.
  • Supporting outreach and introduction efforts by providing client service leaders and sales directors with content, event schedules, and targeting recommendations.
