About The Position

Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support these customer requirements. You would apply your skills to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading teams or projects
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Responsibilities

  • Leading the design, control, and improvement of the manufacturing process through collaboration within a multi-disciplined team
  • Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs
  • Influencing and translating engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes
  • Supporting manufacturing areas daily with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
  • Leading non-conforming material analysis with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
  • Leading Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
  • Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
  • Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
  • Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
  • Interacting with internal customers
