About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for creating assembly procedures, fixtures, guides, and production routings using CAD and manufacturing software. This role involves interpreting complex engineering documentation, supporting RF and PCB assembly processes, and developing SMT programs. The engineer will also perform maintenance and troubleshooting for PCBA equipment, conduct failure analysis, and provide DFM feedback. Additionally, they will maintain manufacturing documentation and participate in cross-departmental initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years prior relevant experience, Master’s Degree with minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of PCBA and SMT processes, RF assembly, and electrical assembly techniques such as sweat‑down.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering documentation.
  • Experience with CAD tools, MES/ERP systems
  • Strong problem‑solving skills; experience with root cause analysis and hands‑on troubleshooting.
  • Costpoint, ERP systems, Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (e.g. Green Card holder), or a protected individual as defined by the International Traffic in Arm Regulations (ITAR).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CNCs or mechanical design is a plus.
  • Experience in cleanroom or mil‑space manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create assembly procedures, fixtures, guides, and production routings/travelers using CAD and manufacturing software.
  • Develop clear assembly guides to support repeatable, high-quality builds.
  • Interpret complex mechanical, electrical, and assembly drawings including schematics, Gerbers, CAD data, and BOMs while contributing feedback and observations to enhance document quality.
  • Support RF and PCB sweat‑down assembly processes and assist in First Piece prototype builds, engaging in hands-on problem-solving to refine early design implementation.
  • Develop and maintain SMT programs, oven profiles and PCB panelization for new and existing products.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment support for SMT, reflow, and related PCBA equipment while collaborating with suppliers as needed.
  • Conduct failure analysis, defect investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements; contribute to cost, workflow, and space-planning studies to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide DFM feedback to design and process engineering; participate in cross-departmental discussions that support productivity goals and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain assembly instructions (AI), ECNs, tooling requisitions, and manufacturing documentation.
