The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. Supporting the world’s bravest.Job Responsibilities Performs moderately complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification, and/or evaluation of Production Operations. May prepare complicated plans, conduct / support various Engineering studies, and provide analysis or tests in the development or modification of Production Operations. Troubleshoot hardware and/or assemblies for failure analysis, generate associated reports, and implement corrective actions. Participate in Change Control Board, Material Review Board, and Failure Review Board activities as a key stakeholder. Analysis of data requires skill and sound judgment. Develop manufacturing processes, process plans, assembly instructions, manufacturing flows, and capacity plans. Review detail designs for manufacturability and producibility. Design and support fabrication of assembly aids and tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable engineering field with 7+ years applicable engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience).
  • Experience with Creo and/or SolidWorks
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and Drawing standards
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of Circuit Card Assembly fabrication a plus.
  • Specialties may include manufacturing, production, industrial, tooling, testing, processing, and robotics.
  • Experience with Mil Spec hardware, Electronics and/or Electro-Optical equipment assembly and testing is desired.
  • Lean / Six Sigma training is strongly desired.
