About The Position

The Manual Machinist III is a senior technical machinist responsible for performing complex machining operations, advanced machine setups, and supporting production with technical expertise. This role also provides guidance and mentorship to junior machinists while ensuring machining operations meet aviation industry standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited school.
At least 5+ years of machining or manufacturing experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Advanced machining and troubleshooting knowledge.
Ability to machine large or complex aviation components.
Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling.
Leadership and mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

Perform complex machine setups and operations on large or critical aviation components.
Operate specialized equipment such as vertical turret lathes (VTL), horizontal boring mills, or other large machining equipment.
Develop machining strategies for complex repairs and machining operations.
Interpret detailed drawings, repair manuals, and work instructions.
Perform advanced machining calculations for speeds, feeds, and machining sequences.
Verify dimensional accuracy and quality of machined components.
Troubleshoot complex machining problems and implement solutions.
Assist supervisors in improving machining processes and efficiency.
Train and mentor apprentice and junior machinists.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, aviation regulations, and company quality standards.
Support production goals by maintaining efficient machining operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
