About The Position

Georgeson, part of the Investor Engagement division of Computershare Issuer Services, has a unique opportunity for a Senior Managing Director, Account Executive. This role is based in the New York office, with a hybrid work model allowing for some remote work. The Senior Managing Director will serve as a trusted advisor to issuer clients, delivering advisory services for various corporate events such as proxy contests, M&A, corporate actions, shareholder engagement, shareholder meetings, and special situations. This is a client-facing role requiring effective engagement with corporate advisors, senior executives, institutional investors, and others in the corporate governance industry.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree, and preferably an MBA or JD.
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in corporate actions, corporate governance, stewardship or in a related legal or investor relations position.
  • Established relationships with corporate advisors.
  • Current knowledge of SEC regulations and state laws regarding shareholder meetings.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance issues and possess an understanding of proxy advisory firms and institutional investors.
  • Ability to handle numerous client engagements simultaneously, be organized, articulate, and maintain poise during challenging, high-stress events.
  • Ability to manage client deliverables and recommend actions to improve the results of shareholder meetings.
  • Strong analytical and communications skills - both in writing and orally.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Comfort working in a team environment.
  • Experience with CRM like Salesforce and using outbound sales enablement tools to generate leads and increase pipeline conversion.

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for client engagements.
  • Close prospective clients and enhance revenue opportunities with existing clients.
  • Deliver high levels of client satisfaction by anticipating client needs and through direct communication, including working well with other advisors retained by clients.
  • Seek to increase the firm’s overall revenue and profitability through the pursuit of new business, including calling on companies, attorneys, and investment bankers to secure new corporate clients.
  • Develop and manage a book of business, where outperformance will be rewarded.
  • Provide data-driven analytical advice to senior executives, outside law firms, investment bankers, and institutional investors.
  • Lead small teams that service individual clients.
