About The Position

The Senior Manager of Supplier Performance leads the supplier-facing supply chain function responsible for supplier readiness, performance, and execution across all programs. This role ensures critical suppliers are aligned to program requirements, schedules, and technical expectations, including delivery of both product and required technical/certification data. The Senior Manager establishes and drives supplier integration processes, risk management discipline, and recovery execution across a complex, design-to-order supply base. Working closely with Procurement, Material Planning, Material Program Management (MPM), and Logistics, this role ensures supplier execution supports program readiness, schedule performance, and financial outcomes. This position is a key enabler of program success, responsible for preventing downstream disruption by ensuring supplier readiness, alignment, and accountability from early design through installation and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, supplier management, program management, or operations within aerospace or complex manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing critical suppliers and complex assemblies or systems, preferably in a design-to-order or program-based environment
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and Program Management to drive execution and resolve issues
  • Experience with supplier risk management, performance management, and recovery execution in high-impact or schedule-critical situations
  • Experience influencing supplier selection, make/buy decisions, and sourcing strategy for complex or turnkey systems
  • Strong understanding of engineering release processes, production readiness, and integration challenges in low-volume, high-complexity programs
  • Experience presenting to and engaging with senior leadership and supplier executives
  • Strong understanding of supply chain execution, supplier performance, and risk management in complex manufacturing or aerospace environments
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment across Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and Program Management
  • Proven capability to assess supplier risk, identify issues early, and lead structured recovery efforts
  • Strong communication and influence skills, including engagement with senior leadership and supplier executives
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improve supplier performance (ERP, Excel, Power BI)
  • Working knowledge of engineering release, production readiness, and applicable regulatory requirements (ITAR/EAR)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Engineering/Operations) is a plus.
  • Experience in aircraft interiors, completions, or other highly customized aerospace products
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and data-driven performance tracking (Excel, Power BI)
  • Working knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis)
  • Experience operating within regulated environments (FAA Part 145, aerospace quality systems)
  • PMP or equivalent project/program management certification
  • APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent supply chain certification
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the supplier integration and performance function - Establish clear ownership, roles, and operating structure for managing supplier execution across all programs and commodities.
  • Own supplier performance across the supply base - Ensure delivery reliability, schedule adherence, and execution performance for critical suppliers supporting program milestones.
  • Own and enforce the supplier risk management framework - Establish and maintain consistent processes for identifying, assessing, and mitigating supplier risks across all programs.
  • Drive supplier readiness and program alignment - Ensure suppliers are prepared for development, qualification, and production phases, aligned with program schedules and requirements.
  • Own supplier escalation and recovery execution model - Lead structured escalation processes and ensure effective recovery plans are implemented for underperforming suppliers.
  • Ensure delivery of product and required technical/certification data - Establish expectations and oversight to ensure suppliers meet both hardware and documentation requirements.
  • Partner with Procurement on supplier strategy and sourcing decisions - Provide input on supplier capability, performance, and risk to support sourcing and contracting decisions.
  • Align with Material Planning and MPM to support program execution - Ensure supplier commitments, risks, and execution plans are integrated into material readiness and program structures.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and reporting - Define and monitor KPIs related to delivery, schedule stability, and execution performance.
  • Develop and lead the SIP team - Build capability across Specialists, Senior Specialists, and Leads, ensuring consistent execution and professional growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the supply base - Improve supplier reliability, capacity alignment, and execution performance through targeted initiatives.
