About The Position

Corporate and Operational Strategy is EY’s executive strategy practice. The EY-Parthenon brand is the home of our fast-growing global strategy capability. We advise corporate and private equity clients on strategic and commercial issues affecting their key investment choices. Areas of our work include: Corporate and BU strategy, Strategy assessment, Market entry strategy and opportunity sizing, Product and business unit strategy development, Divestment options analysis, Purpose-led strategy and long-term value, Business model reinvention, Portfolio strategy, Digital strategy and innovation, Go-to-market strategy, Strategic cost evaluation, Commercial due diligence. You'll work with a high-performing, integrated team which focuses on a variety of global and local corporate, government, and private equity clients. You'll have a diverse range of stretching experiences which will give you continuous learning and development opportunities as well as a great sense of achievement. The Canadian Practice is closely integrated with the Americas EY Parthenon organization. We bring the power of our deep global and local insights, client relationships and an informed, current perspective.

Requirements

  • 8 + years of management consulting, strategy function leadership, or private equity experience
  • Proven effective team leadership experience
  • Entrepreneurism / initiative taking with demonstratable results
  • Commerce, Engineering, Finance or Legal degree (MA, MBA, PhD an asset)
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex concepts in an effective manner
  • Outstanding academic achievement from a top academic institution
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills – analytical, quantitative and conceptual
  • A passion for delivering impact, demonstrated initiative taking, high energy and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
  • Comfort with ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team, at times multiple teams, to deliver client impact while having a positive professional experience
  • Provide effective apprenticeship coaching to junior tenured colleagues
  • Manage complexity and lead the engagement planning
  • Lead the development of the ‘story’ – the output to narrate the solution to the client’s problem – including written output (slides)
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with client stakeholders
  • Engage in / lead client development opportunities
  • Foster an inclusive culture throughout the team and within engagements
  • Develop a community within the team – volunteering to support to develop an offer, or other internal practice build initiatives such as Learning, Operations, Resourcing, Recruitment, etc.
  • Proactively build a personal network within the firm
  • Be comfortable in a team environment that actively encourages members voicing different views to reach the optimal solution for clients
  • This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role
