About The Position

This role drives the development of site customer-focused strategies, monitors team performance and metrics, and incorporates Strategic Supply Chain KPIs into all elements of the plan. The Senior Manager is a recognized subject matter expert on Supply Chain processes, tools, and applications. This position may manage a team of direct and indirect resources to effectively support strategy deployment plans and contributes to multi-functional, regional, or global assignments. The role provides support for material availability to meet build plans throughout the product life cycle for a specific business unit or customer set. It involves designing the supplier portion of the materials supply chain for optimum flexibility with minimum investment, identifying and developing suppliers, reducing material costs, assessing/responding to supply risks, and supporting contracts and agreements. The position also supports the development of delivery requirements, material plans, and short-range capacity plans. It serves as the primary customer interface for Supply Chain Management (SCM) issues, tracks and drives inventory results, and participates in business process improvements to achieve inventory targets and maximize return on investment. The role ensures compliance with customs and regulatory laws, supports freight & logistics optimization, and may directly manage a group of SCM employees, including training, performance management, and development. It establishes department goals and manages resources to achieve them, drives working capital assumptions in the quote process, and leads SCM optimization efforts. The Senior Manager supports new business quotes and ramps for new products as the key corporate stakeholder for the supply chain, acting as the primary customer interface for SCM requirements and solutions. Collaboration with customers on SCM strategies, demand planning, and demand management is key. The role owns the SCM portion for customer QBRs, escalations, and KPI improvement initiatives, leads market teams to optimize working capital, and ensures recovery of contractual claims for SCM-related costs. It leads and prepares responses to customer inquiries, coordinates supplier localization projects, and provides direction and support to site teams on SIOP, GAP inventory reviews, and strategic inventory proposals. The position drives supply chain improvement initiatives with sites and provides coaching and support to cross-functional teams on material pricing, costing, supplier performance, localization strategies, demand/supply support, and continuous improvement. Ultimately, it provides leadership oversight for all SCM-related matters for customer(s).

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.
  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • Strong knowledge in all areas of import / export, regulatory and logistics management.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

  • Strong knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives and how they fit in.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of delivery requirements, material plans and short-range capacity plans to meet production schedules and inventory objectives.
  • Responsible for customer interface from SCM including relationship management and as focal point for all SCM related issues.
  • Responsible for tracking and driving inventory results by working with SCM Managers, Directors & GMs and customer VP/GMs.
  • Participate in business process improvements to help achieve inventory targets and maximize return on investment.
  • Works to ensure Celestica is compliant with customs and regulatory laws.
  • Support freight & logistics optimization efforts for ensuring favorable rates and cycle times for Celestica and customers.
  • May directly manage a group of SCM employees including employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition.
  • Establish department goals/ measurements and manage resources to achieve these goals.
  • Drive working capital assumptions in the quote process, and later lead SCM optimization efforts to achieve or exceed quoted turns and plan.
  • Support new business quotes and ramp for new products as the key corporate stakeholder for the supply chain.
  • Primary customer interface focal point for SCM requirements and solutions, deployment of systems and processes ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Customers on SCM strategies and requirements.
  • Drive customer engagement on demand planning, demand management & collaboration while improving the process.
  • Has the ownership of the SCM portion for the customer QBRs, Escalations and driving KPI improvement initiatives.
  • Lead market teams to optimize working capital performance.
  • Ensure contractual claims for SCM related costs are recovered (e.g. E&O, premium, NRE).
  • Lead & help prepare responses on all SCM customer enquiries.
  • Coordinate supplier localization projects for customers within Celestica.
  • Provide direction and support to site teams on SIOP, GAP inventory reviews and Strategic inventory proposals to customers.
  • Drive supply chain improvement initiatives with sites to support customer and Celestica requirements.
  • Provide coaching and support for various cross functional teams and provides direction on material pricing & costing, supplier performance, site localization strategies, demand/supply support for customers, supply chain flexibility initiatives and overall supply chain continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership oversight for all SCM related matters for customer(s).
