About The Position

Within Mace's consult business, this role focuses on delivering stakeholder management, communications, and interface management services for major construction and infrastructure programmes. The objective is to support project governance, stakeholder engagement, and ensure successful project outcomes in complex project environments. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting stakeholder engagement, communications, and project delivery activities within the construction sector and/or management consultancy environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex construction projects, with a strong understanding of project lifecycles, dependencies, and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of establishing and implementing governance, assurance, functional management frameworks, and delivery strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and activities in fast-paced environments, including situations with significant uncertainty and changing requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise messaging for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience contributing to high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and supporting positive outcomes in challenging stakeholder environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, resilience, and adaptability skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and maintain focus under pressure.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of stakeholder engagement, communications practices, project controls, reporting processes, and relevant delivery tools and methodologies.
  • Effective networking, relationship-building, and engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and diverse project environments.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to conduct in-depth analysis, identify key risks, and support informed decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Progress toward Chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership in a relevant professional institution such as the Association for Project Management (APM) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for supporting specialist function(s) within the Stakeholder Management Service on assigned commission(s).
  • Creates/designs effective implementation of Stakeholder Management framework(s)/strategy(s) on assigned commission(s).
  • Manages and directs clients, consultants, contractors and project team on assigned commission(s) on all relevant Stakeholder Management Service matters.
  • Partners with clients to manage and meet expectations and build strong professional relationships.
  • Provides comprehensive advice to the Project team in the administration of relevant Stakeholder & Communications standards, process and tools, including managing risks, issues and reporting to achieve key objectives and the escalation of performance and management issues.
  • Facilitates and supports periodic reporting and structured governance and performance meetings.
  • Accountable and responsible for developing functional management strategies, plans, processes and tools and tracking progress against KPIs.
  • Works with the Stakeholder & Communications Service Director and/or Project Manager to recognise actions, recognise opportunities and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Ensures all activities/operations are carried out in line with Mace Control Centre, Client requirements and prevailing regulation, policy and legislation.
  • Provides Line Management to more junior resources and other Project staff as required.
  • Utilises expertise to mentor and assist the personal and career development of junior staff team members.
  • Leads the integration of the function with all relevant disciplines.
  • Supports the HUB Stakeholder & Communications and Project Controls Director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
