About The Position

As Senior Manager - Food Safety & Traceability, you will play a critical role in shaping Walmart’s enterprise approach to food traceability and regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategy, guide technology and process decisions, and partner across the organization to meet evolving food safety regulations. The Food Safety & Traceability team is responsible for safeguarding customers and the business by ensuring end to end traceability and compliance across Walmart’s supply chain. The team partners closely with merchandising, supply chain, item governance, and technology teams to implement regulatory requirements and strengthen food safety programs. This role directly supports enterprise compliance with FSMA 204 while advancing long term traceability capabilities that protect trust, drive consistency, and enable operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of FSMA 204 traceability requirements & compliance timelines.
  • Working knowledge of product / technology solutions including Warehouse Management Systems, Item File, and Supplier Portals.
  • Knowledge of Distribution Center Operations and Structure.
  • Knowledge of Store/Club Operations and Structure.
  • Food Safety Systems Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate others on traceability compliance.
  • Experience building and designing programs to ensure traceability compliance.
  • Strategic, influential, and progressive with the ability to regulatory requirements and translate business challenges into actionable solutions in a highly complex, rapidly evolving environment.
  • An action-oriented, resourceful, and approachable while also having the ability to influence and lead change, based on your experience and network.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.
  • 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a regulatory compliance SME, possessing a strong knowledge of FSMA 204 traceability requirements and advise the business on processes and technology to meet traceability requirements.
  • Support the Director, Program Management in developing company strategy and specific project milestones necessary to implement FSMA 204 and company traceability requirements throughout the organization.
  • Develop the corporate traceability plan, including monitoring and verification of food traceability compliance across all suppliers, Walmart distribution points, and stores/clubs.
  • Conduct traceability training, presentations, and leadership updates as required.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and technologies.
  • Support strategic, risk mitigation, and maturation of compliance programs for Supply Chain Food Safety.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills.
  • Work independently and autonomously.
  • Build trust and credibility and inspires associates across the business.
  • Be an ambassador for Walmart, Global Ethics and Compliance, and Food Safety ensuring strict standards of ethics and integrity.
