About The Position

Zscaler is hiring a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering for its Zero Trust Exchange department. Based in Santa Clara, California, the role reports to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing engineering team and help scale the Zscaler Client Connector Portal service, working closely with executive leadership and peer product and operations teams. The role calls for a leader who can combine strategic direction with hands-on execution and contribute deeply to product architecture and design. The manager will guide the team in adopting the AI Development Lifecycle, oversee cloud operations, and transition the team to a full service ownership model. They will partner with product management to define and deliver the product roadmap. Requirements

At least 7 years of experience building and leading software development teams developing enterprise applications with the Java stack.
At least 5 years of experience with cloud-based deployment and cloud operations.
At least 3 years of experience working with hyperscalers such as AWS.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Strong knowledge of the Java stack, SSL, and MySQL.
Hands-on proficiency with Java, Python, and shell scripting.
Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within the functional domain.

Nice To Haves

Proven ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency.
Current experience utilizing the AI Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) in software delivery.
In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and microservices architectures.
US citizenship.

Responsibilities

Lead the software development team while adopting the AI Development Lifecycle and collaborating with product and operations teams.
Provide thought leadership and deep involvement in product architecture and design.
Oversee cloud operations, including upgrades, scalability improvements, and troubleshooting.
Transition the team to a full service ownership model.
Partner with product management to define and execute the product roadmap.
