About The Position

The Senior Manager is an integral part of Latham’s Global Finance team. This role will be responsible for providing revenue and financial analysis support to all US practice offices within their region, while building relationships with, and providing support to practice office Revenue Managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure excellent revenue support is provided. This role will be located in either our San Francisco or Silicon Valley office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate well developed and professional interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Possess excellent leadership skills (e.g., organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management
  • Exhibit the ability to perceive and analyze problems, and display a capacity to make or recommend sound decisions
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field
  • A minimum of six (6) years increasingly complex accounting experience, with at least two (2) years of relevant experience in client billing
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ of experience in a management capacity
  • Experience at a professional services organization
  • Experience with Elite accounting system or comparable enterprise financial software application

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Director of Revenue Operations with all revenue-related aspects of setting up and supporting new or expanding practice offices, including traveling to these offices to assess local needs, meeting with attorneys and staff, assisting with the recruiting of Revenue staff, and providing assistance in collecting and evaluating information about statutory requirements for start-up operations in new countries
  • Assisting in creating tip sheets, billing manual updates, and other training materials, while training the practice office revenue staff and attorney support to ensure they understand and follow proper revenue procedures
  • Working with the local practice offices to ensure the Inventory Management Gold Standard is being executed effectively
  • Maintaining a continuing review of revenue-related procedures to bring about improvements with regard to efficiency and use of resources, while acting as a resource for information, and the interpretation of accounting policies and procedures
  • Developing and managing a bill auditing function and ensuring firm policies and procedures are being followed by practice office billing staff
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
