About The Position

This role provides enterprise-wide leadership and strategic direction on complex deal structuring, order management, and revenue recognition. The Senior Manager will partner with cross-functional and global teams to evaluate complex revenue streams, profitability drivers, and margin performance, influencing business decisions and operational outcomes. A key aspect of this role involves reviewing and negotiating complex customer and supplier contracts, providing expert accounting guidance, and recommending risk-mitigating revisions. The position also requires leading the evaluation and modeling of financial and accounting implications of contract terms to optimize profitability and revenue/cost recognition. The Senior Manager will prepare revenue recognition position memos and partner closely with Technical Accounting on non-standard transactions. This role operates in a fast-paced, global business environment requiring extensive collaboration and influence across various departments and international teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting with deep expertise in ASC 606, including leadership in evaluating and managing highly complex revenue arrangements, NRE/development contracts, and global business transactions.
  • Strong revenue accounting skills, including experience with position papers and advising on non-standard contract structures.
  • Experience reviewing and influencing customer and supplier contracts, with the ability to assess accounting implications and structure compliant deals.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and cross-regionally across management levels.
  • Experience with revenue modeling, particularly for milestone-based or development arrangements.
  • Solid understanding of audit requirements and internal controls.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex accounting matters to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional and global stakeholders, providing strategic accounting guidance that aligns business objectives with compliant financial reporting practices.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills with experience evaluating contract profitability, margin impacts, cost commitments, milestone structures, and revenue/cost timing implications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical accounting concepts into clear business recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing computer-based work and participating in virtual and in-person meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with cross-functional and cross-regional leadership teams (including Legal, Tax, Sales, and Finance) to evaluate complex revenue streams, profitability drivers, and margin performance, providing strategic insights that influence business decisions and operational outcomes.
  • Provides enterprise-wide leadership and strategic direction to cross-functional and global teams on highly complex deal structuring, order management, and revenue recognition matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence.
  • Leads the evaluation, interpretation, and resolution of highly complex revenue arrangements, including revenue recognition, cost recognition, and intercompany transactions, while providing strategic accounting guidance and influencing decision-making across cross-functional and global stakeholder groups.
  • Partner with Business Group Finance regularly to develop, maintain and ensure compliance with detailed revenue models, including forecasting revenue recognition, milestone timing, and margin impacts based on contract terms and ASC 606 treatment.
  • Assist in developing and improving scalable processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of revenue recognition and close activities.
  • Support audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to internal and external auditor inquiries.
  • Partners strategically with Sales, Legal, Operations, and Finance leadership to review and negotiate complex customer and supplier contract terms, providing expert accounting guidance, recommending risk-mitigating revisions, and ensuring alignment with revenue recognition requirements, operational objectives, and broader business strategy.
  • Lead the evaluation and modeling of the financial and accounting implications of complex customer and supplier contract terms including pricing structures, milestones, deliverables, and cost commitments to optimize profitability, margin performance, and revenue/cost recognition outcomes.
  • Establishes and communicates strategic accounting positions and complex accounting conclusions to Business Group Finance leadership, driving alignment, influencing decision-making, and ensuring timely follow-through on key financial and operational matters.
  • Leads the review, interpretation, and evaluation of complex customer contracts and purchase orders to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606, company policy, and evolving business requirements, while providing strategic guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Leads cross-functional coordination with Business Groups to drive complex cost-to-cost and Stand-Alone Selling Price (SSP) analyses, ensuring accuracy, compliance with revenue recognition requirements, and alignment with strategic business and financial objectives.
  • Prepare revenue recognition position memos, partnering closely with Technical Accounting on non-standard transactions.
