Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., chemistry, biology, engineering, or related field to consumables, health and wellness or food).
  • 10+ years of quality assurance experience within retail/consumer products, with demonstrated ownership of quality programs, supplier performance, and customer experience outcomes
  • Strong foundation in preventive quality systems (GMPs, CAPA, audits, risk assessment) and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment while balancing business priorities with quality risk
  • Strong analytical, Ai usage and critical-thinking skills; able to translate testing, supplier, and customer data into insights, priorities, and clear recommendations
  • Executive-ready communication and stakeholder management skills to influence decisions across Product, Brand, and Sourcing—often without direct authority
  • Strong relationship-building skills with associates, suppliers, and third-party service providers to drive accountability and sustained performance
  • Strong proficiency with quality data and digital tools (Excel, Power BI, Ai tools) to build dashboards, automate reporting, and enable proactive risk management

Responsibilities

  • Define and govern end-to-end quality requirements for assigned categories, translating customer needs into clear standards for suppliers and third-party labs.
  • Manage quality assurance processes by monitoring industry best practices, evaluating key quality drivers, and incorporating them into quality programs.
  • Set the testing approach for new and existing items by selecting fit-for-purpose methods and specifications that are repeatable, risk-based, and aligned to customer expectations.
  • Establish performance dashboards and routine business reviews including lab results and trend data; identify emerging quality risks and drive prioritized action plans.
  • Lead cross-functional issue resolution with suppliers by driving root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verification of effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
  • Convert customer feedback and complaint insights into category-level improvement roadmaps; align stakeholders on actions and measure impact on customer experience.
  • Continuously evolve testing programs and protocols, benchmarking external best practices and simplifying processes to improve speed, consistency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Product, Brand, and Sourcing partners—clarifying expectations, recommending decisions, and embedding quality into key milestones from concept to launch.
  • Build supplier capability by partnering with Product/Business Development, Sourcing, and third-party labs to standardize expectations, strengthen process controls, and drive sustained performance.
  • Own quality readiness for product launches by ensuring testing is completed at the right milestones, results are interpreted with sound judgment, and risks are addressed before commercialization.
