About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Manager to join our global PR & Communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing integrated PR & Communications strategies that elevate the Jamestown brand, support our portfolio of properties, and engage key stakeholders across media, community, and industry channels. You will partner closely with the Global Head of PR & Communications and cross-functional teams—including leasing, creative & marketing, development, and asset management—to craft compelling narratives, manage media relationships, and amplify Jamestown’s thought leadership. The ideal candidate is a seasoned communications professional with a proven track record in public relations, strong media instincts, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Experience in real estate, retail, mixed-use development, or place-based brands is a strong plus.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in public relations and communications; experience in real estate, f&b/retail, mixed-use development, placemaking, or related industries strongly preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences
  • Proven track record of securing high-quality media placements across national, regional, and trade outlets
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Experience managing agency relationships and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel as needed and attend events outside of standard business hours
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • Knowledge of media landscape, including national, regional, trade, and digital outlets relevant to real estate, retail, and urban/suburban development
  • Knowledge of best practices in corporate communications, brand management, and reputation strategy
  • Skill in strategic storytelling and message development across a variety of formats and platforms
  • Skill in building and maintaining strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Skill in conflict management and crisis communications, with a calm and solutions-oriented approach under pressure
  • Skill in organizational and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence across levels
  • Skill in meeting deadlines and maintaining composure and effectiveness in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR and communications strategies that support Jamestown’s corporate brand, portfolio properties, and key business initiatives
  • Draft, edit, and distribute a broad range of communications materials including press releases, media pitches, executive talking points, Q&As, bylines, award submissions, and internal communications
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with national, regional, and trade media; serve as a key point of contact for press inquiries and proactively pitch stories that generate meaningful coverage
  • Lead communications planning and execution for property openings, major leasing announcements, community events, and corporate milestones
  • Support executive visibility and thought leadership initiatives, including speaking opportunities, conference participation, and media coaching
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends; prepare regular reporting on PR metrics and share insights with leadership and key stakeholders
  • Manage external PR agency partners and vendors, ensuring alignment with brand standards and strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with the creative & marketing teams to ensure message consistency across owned, earned, and paid channels
  • Support crisis communications planning and response efforts as needed, in coordination with leadership
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices in PR, communications, and brand storytelling
