The Senior Manager, Person-Centered Supports & Specialized Services is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of individualized, person-centered supports across DASCH programs, with a strong focus on inclusion, independence, and quality of life. This role integrates specialized supports, behavioural and clinical-informed practices, financial planning, and life skills development with strategic and operational oversight to ensure the wellbeing, safety, and long-term success of the people DASCH supports. The position provides leadership in individualized planning, workforce competency development, and program evaluation while ensuring services are responsive, inclusive, evidence-informed, and aligned with organizational standards. This role works collaboratively across Programming, SSRS, Learning & Development, and Human Resources to strengthen service delivery, build staff capacity, and drive measurable improvements in outcomes for the people DASCH supports.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Disability Studies
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within community services, disability services, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex behavioural, medical, and specialized support needs
  • Strong knowledge of person-centered practices, individualized planning, and life skills development
  • Knowledge of behavioural support approaches and ability to support implementation of behaviour strategies in collaboration with clinical professionals
  • Proven ability to analyze data, interpret service trends, and evaluate outcomes to support decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Experience developing, implementing, or supporting training programs and workforce development initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence practice, and drive change across programs
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to support staff in complex, dynamic environments
  • Knowledge of legislation, best practices, and standards related to disability services, safety, and ethical care
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data tracking/reporting systems
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required
  • Satisfactory background checks, including a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry check and Child Abuse Registry check (checks completed within three months of applying are acceptable)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of individualized support plans
  • Oversee person-centered planning processes to ensure meaningful participation and measurable outcomes
  • Review and approve support plans to ensure alignment with best practices and individual goals
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, families, and support networks to enhance inclusion, independence, and community participation
  • Develop and maintain planning resources to ensure consistency and effective individualized planning across programs
  • Lead identification and response to complex behavioural and specialized support needs
  • Review and support implementation of behavioural and specialized strategies in collaboration with SSRS and external professionals
  • Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare and community professionals to support coordinated care
  • Monitor outcomes, documentation, and follow-up of support strategies
  • Support staff in implementing strategies safely and effectively
  • Lead rights review processes and support strategies to reduce rights restrictions
  • Analyze trends in person-centered supports and support implementation of related practices and improvements
  • Oversee coordination of medical supports, appointments, and ongoing care needs
  • Ensure proactive follow-up and collaboration with external healthcare providers
  • Review medical supports for individuals with complex needs to ensure appropriate care
  • Monitor incidents and trends to identify risks and improve safety practices
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and internal standards
  • Oversee individualized financial planning and annual financial reviews
  • Ensure financial supports align with personal goals, independence, and quality of life
  • Promote and integrate life skills development across programs
  • Evaluate programs to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor trends, analyze data, and support evidence-informed decision-making
  • Complete annual needs, risk, and service analysis to inform improvements
  • Implement improvement initiatives focused on safety, inclusion, and quality outcomes
  • Provide program-level insights to inform organizational planning
  • Oversee and enhance DASCH’s online learning management system to ensure a strong and accessible learning experience
  • Lead the design and develop training aligned with person-centered and specialized supports
  • Identify training needs and implement targeted development initiatives
  • Build workforce competency in behavioural, specialized, and person-centered practices
  • Support implementation of training into practice through coaching and follow-up
  • Provide leadership across Programming in specialized and person-centered supports
  • Collaborate with SSRS, Learning & Development, and Human Resources to align service delivery and workforce development
  • Contribute to policy development, strategic planning, and organizational initiatives
  • Support implementation and maintenance of the Rights & Quality Framework within the organization
  • Contribute to development of indicators related to safety, wellbeing, and outcomes
  • Integrate framework standards into planning, service delivery, and evaluation
  • Provide program-level reporting and insights on service effectiveness and outcomes
