The Strategic Partnerships and Resource Group (SPRG) drive and manage Public-Private Partnership projects (PPP) in which Johnson & Johnson participates. These PPP include competitive tender grants and broad consortia, where governmental, non-governmental, or in-kind contributions benefit and support J&J innovation priorities across all of its sectors. Critically, SPRG ensures consistency and compliance in these contracts and grants across the organization. SPRG supports different teams across J&J when identifying and evaluating available PPP opportunities by ensuring the external resources are an appropriate strategic fit to our R&D priorities. Furthermore, SPRG assesses all risks, terms and conditions before any engagement or commitment is made. Finally, SPRG supports the projects throughout their lifecycle - from idea generation, submission/application, agreement negotiation, project execution, close-out, and auditing. To ensure identified opportunities are transformed into high-quality, successful competitive proposals that yield significant benefits and recognized outcomes, SPRG is hiring a Sr. Manager Partnership Outcomes & Value Integration. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, global team steeped in a culture of collaboration, problem solving, risk assessment and compliance. The Sr. Manager Partnership Outcomes & Value Integration plays a critical role within SPRG by ensuring that the outcomes from PPP are systematically captured, translated, and leveraged to shape future strategy and decision making across Johnson & Johnson. The role focuses on integrating impact from ongoing and completed PPPs—including grants, consortia, and other public sector collaborations—into actionable insights that inform R&D priorities, partnership strategy, and external engagement. By documenting these outcomes, identifying value creating patterns, and communicating real world examples, the Sr. Manager Partnership Outcomes & Value Integration strengthens SPRG’s ability to pursue high value PPPs while avoiding low impact or misaligned opportunities. Working closely with SPRG front office, Project Managers, and enterprise stakeholders, the role establishes a positive feedback loop between outcomes from past PPP projects and future PPP strategy. In short, the role will identify PPP projects with meaningful results that have had a long-term impact on J&J R&D and work with team members to communicate this impact, thereby encouraging development new high-potential PPP projects. In doing so, the position contributes directly to PPP portfolio quality, strategic clarity, and SPRG’s ability to demonstrate and amplify the value of public sector collaborations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, business administration, business intelligence, communications, marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: business development, communications, project or alliance management, government affairs, venture capital, commercial and marketing strategy, or government contracting is required.
  • Experience working within or alongside complex partnerships, consortia, or public‑sector collaboration models preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate qualitative and quantitative outcomes into strategic insights required.
  • Working knowledge of the global healthcare landscape across key international markets required.
  • Familiarity with healthcare innovation models, complex deal structures, or regulatory and development processes preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex research concepts and results to both technical and non‑technical audiences required.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and contribute effectively in a matrixed organization required.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort engaging with senior leaders and external partners required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute structured approaches to evaluate ongoing and completed PPPs, including grants and consortia, with a focus on outcomes, risks, and long-term value to J&J R&D.
  • Document outcomes from prior PPPs into reusable insights that inform future opportunity selection and partnership design.
  • Identify “game changing” PPPs that significantly enhanced R&D efforts and extract learnings applicable across the portfolio.
  • Inform and shape SPRG strategies by providing evidence-based recommendations on which PPP mechanisms, models, government funding agencies, and partnership types to pursue or avoid.
  • Participate in strategic discussions with SPRG leadership and Focus Area Leads to align PPP direction with evolving R&D priorities.
  • Analyze the overall PPP portfolio to detect patterns in value creation, risk, and strategic fit.
  • Craft clear, data supported communications that demonstrate how PPP outcomes advance J&J innovation priorities.
  • Develop materials in multiple formats to improve awareness, uptake, and internal use of PPP outcomes.
  • Support SPRG colleagues in using real-world PPP examples to engage business partners and government agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of tools and processes that capture, store, and share PPP impact across the enterprise.
  • Evaluate software and knowledge sharing infrastructure to enable broader visibility of PPP outcomes inside and outside J&J.
  • Enable a sustainable, repeatable feedback loop that links past PPP outcomes to future strategic decision-making.
  • Engage with SPRG Project Managers to identify ongoing and completed projects with high value deliverables.
  • Build strong working relationships with business partners, enterprise leaders, and project leads outside SPRG to understand long-term PPP impact.
  • Operate effectively in a matrixed environment, influencing stakeholders beyond direct reporting lines.
