About The Position

Hypertec is seeking a Senior Manager, Operational Excellence to join our Operations team in Montreal, Quebec. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Operational Excellence strategies aligned with business objectives. The position requires driving Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality, cost, and delivery performance. The Senior Manager will partner with cross-functional leaders, define and monitor KPIs, develop and standardize processes, and coach teams in continuous improvement methodologies. Additionally, the role supports change management, identifies digital and automation opportunities, and ensures alignment with compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in operational excellence leadership, continuous improvement, or industrial engineering roles, preferably in a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt or equivalent certification preferred), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale improvement initiatives with measurable business impact (e.g., cost savings, productivity gains, quality improvements).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing and driving change across multiple levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with operational tools, data analytics, and continuous improvement software platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or eligibility to obtain such designation, is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working in multi-site, cross-functional, or global environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Operational Excellence strategies aligned to business objectives and performance targets.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders (Warehouse and Logistics, Quality & Services) to identify improvement opportunities and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance.
  • Develop and standardize processes, tools, and best practices across sites to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational discipline.
  • Coach and mentor leaders and teams in continuous improvement methodologies, fostering capability building at all levels of the organization.
  • Support change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
  • Identify and implement digital and automation opportunities to improve operational performance and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure alignment with compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements while driving operational improvements.
