Anthropologie Group Senior Manager of Social Media Content

Urban OutfittersPhiladelphia, PA
Hybrid

About The Position

Anthropologie Group is looking for a creatively driven, culturally fluent social content leader who understands that the best social storytelling doesn't happen in isolation: it happens at the intersection of brand vision, merchandising intelligence, and cultural relevance. This is a role for someone who is deeply immersed in fashion, internet culture, and the evolving social landscape and who brings those instincts to life through genuine partnership. You'll work hand-in-hand with our Creative and Merchandising teams to co-author content that feels culturally alive and commercially intentional. You know how to concept and art direct with a strong point of view, and you know when an idea serves the brand versus when it's just chasing a moment. We're looking for someone who can hold the tension between what's culturally resonant and what's true to who we are; and consistently find the creative territory where those two things overlap. This person will shape how Anthropologie Group shows up socially across brand, culture, and commerce, in a way that earns attention. This role will be based in Philadelphia, PA going into the office 3x a week.

Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of experience in social media content, fashion editorial, creative production, or digital storytelling with demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, co-creative environment.
  • Exceptional taste level with a strong eye for fashion, styling, visual aesthetics, and lo-fi videography.
  • A strong conceptual thinker and art director who can brief and direct others as fluently as they can generate ideas themselves.
  • Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube including platform behavior, content formats, and audience expectations — paired with the editorial judgment to know when and how to apply that knowledge.
  • Proven ability to develop content through the lens of brand, culture, and commerce simultaneously; not optimizing for one at the expense of the others.
  • Experience leading creator casting, influencer partnerships, and external creative relationships with a focus on brand fit and long-term value.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator who can build trust with Creative, Merchandising, and Marketing partners, and who sees co-creation as a strength rather than a constraint.
  • Highly organized with experience managing multiple projects, timelines, and production workflows simultaneously.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — excited by experimentation, iteration, and building content that earns its audience through quality and relevance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of social content that operates across three lenses simultaneously: brand identity, cultural relevance, and commerce.
  • Concept and art direct social-first content- storyboarding, directing shoots, developing platform-native storytelling with a clear, elevated point of view that reflects Anthropologie Group's aesthetic and values.
  • Build and steward recurring content formats and storytelling frameworks that create recognizable, returnable moments for our audiences; not just one-off viral swings.
  • Develop a test-and-learn culture that's rooted in brand integrity: experiment boldly, but always with intention.
  • Operate as a true creative partner, not a siloed owner. This role requires deep, ongoing collaboration with Creative, Merchandising, and Marketing to ensure social content is co-authored with the people closest to the product and the brand.
  • Work with Merchandising partners to understand what's being sold, what stories are worth telling, and how product can be brought to life in ways that feel editorial rather than transactional.
  • Partner with Creative teams to translate campaign direction, brand identity, and visual language into socially native content that doesn't feel like a repurposed campaign asset.
  • Align with Marketing partners on broader brand moments, key launches, and seasonal priorities, ensuring social storytelling ladders up to business goals without losing its cultural edge.
  • Present creative concepts and content strategies to leadership in a way that reflects both creative ambition and commercial awareness.
  • Oversee creator casting and partnership strategy with an eye toward cultural fit, brand alignment, and authentic storytelling, not just follower count.
  • Identify emerging talent and cultural voices that genuinely reflect the Anthropologie customer and aesthetic, and build long-term relationships rather than transactional partnerships.
  • Lead negotiations for creator partnerships, usage rights, and social-first deliverables, ensuring the brand's voice and standards are upheld throughout.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing social content team building a culture of creative rigor, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Establish clear workflows, production timelines, and communication structures that allow the team to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
  • Create an environment where big ideas are welcomed, but execution and craft matter just as much as the concept.
