About The Position

KID Museum is seeking a Senior Manager of Curriculum Design to bridge the gap between innovative museum experiences and educational settings like classrooms, after-school programs, and community spaces. This role is for individuals passionate about equitable STEM access, skilled in creating effective real-world curriculum, and capable of translating maker-based learning into trusted resources for teachers. The position involves developing high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum that integrates the 'Mind of a Maker' pedagogical approach, hands-on inquiry-based learning, and K-12 standards such as NGSS, Common Core, and ISTE. Responsibilities include designing teacher and student materials, digital resources, supporting program facilitation, collaborating with Marketing on products, and staying updated on educational trends like AI and computational thinking. Approximately 30% of the role will involve supporting on-site programming.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, engineering, or sciences
  • 5+ years in K-12 curriculum design, or 7+ years in the classroom
  • Deep knowledge of STEM content and culturally sustaining pedagogy
  • Experience with maker learning tools: coding, robotics, textiles, woodworking, electronics
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to calibrate tone and complexity for any grade level
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple timelines
