About The Position

KID Museum is seeking a Senior Manager of Curriculum Design to bridge the gap between museum experiences and educational settings like classrooms, after-school programs, and community spaces. This role is for individuals passionate about equitable STEM access, skilled in creating effective curriculum, and capable of translating maker-based learning into trusted resources for educators. The position involves developing high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum that integrates the museum's 'Mind of a Maker' pedagogical approach, hands-on inquiry-based learning, and K-12 standards (NGSS, Common Core, ISTE). Responsibilities include designing teacher and student materials, digital resources, supporting facilitation plans, collaborating on product development, and staying updated on educational trends like AI and computational thinking. Approximately 30% of the role involves supporting on-site programming.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, engineering, or sciences
• 5+ years in K-12 curriculum design, or 7+ years in the classroom
• Deep knowledge of STEM content and culturally sustaining pedagogy
• Experience with maker learning tools: coding, robotics, textiles, woodworking, electronics
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to calibrate tone and complexity for any grade level
• Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple timelines without dropping the ball
