About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative leadership to carry out the mission of the City and the Schiele Museum by managing operations, maintaining standards, financial stability, long range planning, and serve as the representative of the museum. This job works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Natural Science, Humanities or related discipline.
  • Ten years of museum management or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-700, IS-100, IS-200, IS-300, and IS-400 courses within 12 months of hire date.
  • Drug screening, reference checks, and criminal background are required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
  • Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
  • Provides administrative leadership to carry out the mission of the City and the Schiele Museum.
  • Secures funding through grants, directs all fundraising, and ensures financial stability.
  • Directs daily operations to maintain industry standards and best practices.
  • Serves as the representative of the museum in the community and to the Schiele Museum, Inc.
  • Leads the long rang planning process.
  • Prepare departmental budget and monitor expenditure.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
