About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Marketing & Public Relations to lead marketing and communications strategy for its Land and Air Systems business. This role involves developing and executing integrated marketing and public relations programs to support business development objectives, enhance brand positioning, and expand GDMS's presence in the defense and technology market. The position requires close collaboration with senior leadership, business development teams, and external agency partners to ensure communication strategies align with organizational priorities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of progressive marketing and public relations experience, or Master's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading marketing campaigns and product marketing plans, and managing teams in complex, regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of the full marketing mix, including digital, social media, print, advertising, and analytics.
  • Proven public relations skills, including media relationship management and narrative development.
  • Experience managing budgets and external agency relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Defense industry knowledge and relevant customer experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled marketing tools and strategies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a consistent brand identity for Mission Systems Land and Air Systems across all channels and customer touchpoints.
  • Lead external marketing engagement planning with a focus on the U.S. Army, Air Force, and defense industry platform primes to bring our products and capabilities to customers.
  • Plan and execute integrated marketing and PR campaigns that support market growth and competitive positioning.
  • Develop product marketing plans and work in partnership with business leadership to bring new products to market.
  • Manage media relations, including proactive outreach and response to external inquiries.
  • Oversee trade show strategy, messaging, planning, and execution, including representation at key industry events.
  • Apply AI and emerging technologies to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead and develop a team of internal marketing professionals and external agency partners.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and business development to align marketing programs with strategic growth goals.
  • Plan and execute customer-facing events and technical symposia.
  • Use data and analytics to measure campaign performance and drive continuous improvement.
