Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional quality, curriculum, or education operations.
  • Experience managing a large team or network of contractors/adjunct teams.
  • Background as a teacher.
  • Proven ability to build systems from scratch (observation rubrics, coaching workflows, performance tracking) and ensure their adoption.
  • Comfort operating independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to lead large groups and deliver effective feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare education (allied health, clinical training, nursing, or similar).
  • Previous experience at an early-stage or Series A–C startup.
  • Fluency with LMS platforms.
  • Comfort using data to drive quality decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Define the standard for great instruction at Stepful across entry-level certificate programs.
  • Build coaching rubrics and cadences to help instructors meet the defined standard.
  • Develop and motivate a thriving community of Stepful instructors through virtual spaces for connection, best practice sharing, and recognition.
  • Create self-serve tools and dashboards for instructors to provide real-time visibility into classroom impact (pass rates, student engagement, cohort progress).
  • Implement recognition programs and feedback loops to motivate instructors and gather innovation and improvement ideas.
  • Manage a Cohort Logistics Manager responsible for instructor scheduling and 2-3 Instructor Quality Managers who support coaching, observation, and onboarding.
  • Maintain a real-time view of instructor health across the network, tracking tenure, performance trends, and risk to inform hiring, offboarding, and coverage decisions.
  • Partner with the curriculum team to ensure effective translation of content into classroom delivery, adapting to cohort needs and identifying curriculum gaps.
  • Utilize student outcome data (pass rates, engagement, completion) as a quality signal, connecting instructor performance to learning outcomes and reducing variability.
  • Experiment with AI-enabled coaching and observation tools to enhance feedback speed and consistency.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum and Product teams on program modifications.
  • Work with Growth teams on cohort scheduling.
  • Support new program launches in entry-level certificates.
