About The Position

The Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics leads Gardner White’s data team and owns the strategy behind what the business measures. The role sets the data and reporting roadmap, owns the weekly business review, partners with department leaders to define and measure their KPIs, and carries modeling and analysis workstreams alongside the VP of Insights & Analytics. This is a working manager role: hands-on in the analysis and the code while leading the team. Gardner White’s analytics estate runs primarily in R on Posit Connect, with a migration to SAP Business Data Cloud underway. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and partners as a peer with the VP, Insights & Analytics. It leads the Insights & Analytics team and carries a CTO-backed mandate to set reporting standards and certified metric definitions across departments. The role is expected to remain hands-on in the analysis and the code while leading the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 5+ years in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, including experience leading or mentoring others
  • Advanced SQL, plus strong proficiency in R or Python. R is preferred, as the analytics estate runs primarily in R; fluency in the second language is expected to develop on the job
  • Experience building and deploying predictive models and designing experiments
  • Experience with an enterprise BI platform (Power BI preferred) and a modern cloud data platform
  • Experience setting an analytics roadmap and making platform or tooling recommendations to leadership
  • Track record partnering with senior business leaders to define metrics and influence decisions

Nice To Haves

  • Retail or ecommerce experience preferred
  • SAP or Posit Connect exposure a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the analytics team; set standards for analysis, reporting, code review, and documentation
  • Own intake and prioritization for data and reporting requests, including declining work that does not earn its place
  • Hold accountability for the quality and reliability of what the team delivers
  • Own the data and reporting roadmap: what gets built, in what sequence, and what gets retired
  • Set platform and tooling direction, including the forward architecture for the SAP Business Data Cloud migration
  • Expand self-service so departments can answer routine questions without submitting a request
  • Build and maintain predictive models and designed experiments alongside the VP of Insights & Analytics
  • Deliver the analysis behind ambiguous, high-stakes business questions
  • Translate findings into recommendations executives and department leaders can act on
  • Own the weekly business review end to end: agenda, content, facilitation, and follow-through
  • Partner with department leaders to define their KPIs and the reporting structure around them
  • Establish and maintain certified metric definitions so departments work from the same numbers
  • Own the health of the analytics pipeline estate: maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Scope and deliver integrations for new data-generating systems, typically three to four per year
  • Document pipelines, models, and definitions so no critical process depends on one person’s knowledge

Benefits
