About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will lead the development of facility layouts and designs, labor standards, staffing and efficiency analyses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while supporting operational implementations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
5+ years of experience working in a warehouse, distribution or 3PL environment
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Experience with Labor Management Systems (LMS)
Project management experience, including leading projects from concept through completion
Experience with Lean Methodology and AutoCAD
Familiarity with Six Sigma practices and principles

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
7 years of industrial engineering experience in a distribution environment
2 years of supervisory or management experience
SQL experience

Responsibilities

Hire, train and develop industrial engineering staff; provide technical support and direction to site industrial engineers and managers
Develop labor standards, process flow diagrams and job descriptions for new and existing operations
Conduct time study analyses to estimate facility staffing requirements and establish production standards
Identify, evaluate and implement productivity improvements
Document processes to facilitate operational startups and provide on-site support as required
Convert contract documents and SOWs into work instructions and operating procedures
Analyze ongoing costs and compare them to prior cost and pricing estimates
Select appropriate models for receiving, put-away, picking and packing solutions
Identify storage and picking strategies based on product dimensions and activity levels
Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product flow, transportation methods, building layout and power requirements
Specify material handling and storage equipment solutions, including automation where justified
Collaborate with IT resources to develop equipment requirements based on activity levels
