About The Position

We’re looking for a dynamic and visionary leader to guide our Industrial Engineering Department at the Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, TN. In this high‑impact role, you will shape and manage the AC100M value stream while driving innovation, efficiency, and performance across our manufacturing operations. You will lead a talented engineering team, champion continuous improvement, and provide critical industrial engineering expertise to multiple manufacturing groups. From optimizing facility layouts to crafting smart tooling and packaging designs, your leadership will help accelerate our mission and elevate our manufacturing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related engineering field
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Experience with industry manufacturing quality systems (NQA‑1, ISO‑TS, AS9001)
  • Experience with AIAG Core Tools
  • Must obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete required employment eligibility verification.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in composites manufacturing
  • Project management experience
  • Active Q/TS security clearance preferred
  • Experience with centrifuge manufacturing
  • Experience working with license‑driven safety significant parts/systems

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic direction, documentation, and overall performance of the Industrial Engineering Department, ensuring goals are met and lessons learned drive growth.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high‑performing engineering team, fostering strong collaboration and building industrial engineering expertise across Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Oversee departmental operations, guide planning and analysis activities, and support cross‑functional teamwork while ensuring that all deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts aligned with Manufacturing leadership.
  • Manage the facility’s manufacturing layout.
  • Develop and maintain the AC100M value stream map.
  • Achieve key operational targets—including Availability, Performance, and Quality.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety standards, and security protocols.
