About The Position

This position oversees and manages productivity for an assigned area of responsibility within the Maintenance Department. The role involves managing associates and leaders, driving the business plan to achieve facility goals related to production, quality, and safety, and overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance Department. The Senior Manager II, Maintenance ensures compliance with regulations, collaborates with senior leaders on design initiatives, and leads maintenance training programs. They also manage the maintenance budget, optimize capacity, and partner with cross-functional teams to achieve operational objectives. Additionally, this role drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects, provides supervision and development opportunities for associates, and promotes company policies and values.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or technical school certification in an industrial-related field and 7 years’ supervisory experience in maintenance operations, including mentoring and developing people, managing workloads, hiring and promotion of employees, and leading a work or project team OR 9 years' Supervisory experience in maintenance operations, including mentoring and developing people, managing workloads, hiring and promotion of employees, and leading a work or project team.
  • Prior work experience as a maintenance manager or related role.
  • 7 years’ industrial maintenance experience (for example, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and working with mechanical power transmissions, electrical power, machines controls, or in industrial, robotic, electronic maintenance, or related area).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages productivity for an assigned area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports, communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, coordinating workloads, identifying concerns, and determining corrective actions.
  • Manages associates and leaders within an assigned area of responsibility by providing direction, monitoring performance, delivering feedback, identifying training needs, teaching policies, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, training, and evaluation.
  • Drives the business plan for an assigned area of responsibility to achieve facility goals related to production, quality, and safety by implementing operational improvements, monitoring expenses and capital expenditures, monitoring asset utilization, and developing procedures.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the Maintenance Department by monitoring and driving department performance, ensuring associate compliance with state and federal regulations (OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Stormwater, DOT), coordinating with senior leaders on equipment and facility design, ensuring successful implementation of new equipment, leading maintenance training programs, reviewing budget estimates, and collaborating with associates to optimize capacity and service delivery.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Safety, Food Safety/Quality Assurance, and Quality Assurance, to achieve operational objectives.
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying needs, developing business plans, removing barriers, providing resources, establishing performance standards, adjusting strategies, and developing contingency plans.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by recruiting, selecting, and training team members, mentoring associates, building a team-based work environment, establishing performance expectations, conducting evaluations, providing recognition, coaching, and promoting a culture of belonging and inclusion.
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training associates, ensuring compliance, and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
  • Ensures business needs are met by evaluating plans, consulting with business partners, soliciting and implementing suggestions, and participating in community outreach activities.
