Senior Manager, Identity & Access Management

DoorDash USA•New York, NY
•$183,600 - $270,000

About The Position

DoorDash is seeking a hands-on Identity and Access Management (IAM) leader to turn strategy into practical outcomes through technical implementation, control ownership, and team leadership. The role has a global remit and partners closely with the UK-based Global Head of IAM to execute strategy, lead delivery, resolve operational challenges, and support stakeholders across US time zones and the wider business. The position requires flexibility to work earlier hours to collaborate with the UK while maintaining coverage across US teams. Within the first 60 days, the successful candidate is expected to independently deliver measurable improvements in areas such as access governance, audit remediation, lifecycle controls, or automation. After an initial onboarding period, the role will manage and grow the US IAM engineering team. The IAM team enables secure, seamless access across DoorDash's global engineering and business operations. Its mission is to make access simple, automated, and user-centric while maintaining strong governance and compliance. The team streamlines identity lifecycle processes, modernizes access governance, and builds scalable controls that help employees and engineers work efficiently and securely. The role involves architecting, configuring, and implementing IAM improvements with identity platforms, APIs, scripting, and automation; simplifying access through automation, self-service, and data-driven improvements; leading US IAM delivery and engineering; embedding security and audit controls into everyday workflows; and advancing role-based and attribute-based access models, including exploring non-human identity and AI agent governance. The position reports to the Global Head of Identity and Access Management in the Security organization.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of IAM experience, including hands-on ownership of user access reviews, identity lifecycle controls, SoX audit evidence, and remediation of control deficiencies.
  • Technical implementation experience configuring IAM platforms such as Okta, ConductorOne, Saviynt, SailPoint, or similar tools, and using scripting, APIs, or automation to deliver working solutions.
  • Ability to take ambiguous IAM problems from assessment through design to implementation, balancing immediate risk remediation with long-term scalability and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Experience leading technical teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to set priorities and make decisions independently while remaining actively involved in engineering and operational delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including using data to identify control gaps, improve processes, measure outcomes, and balance security, compliance, and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, configure, and implement IAM improvements using identity platforms, APIs, scripting, and automation; deliver minimum viable solutions quickly while advancing scalable strategic designs.
  • Simplify access processes through automation, self-service, and data-driven improvements while maintaining appropriate security controls.
  • Prioritize and resolve US IAM operational challenges, make risk-informed decisions, and deliver against global IAM objectives.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing US IAM engineering team following an initial onboarding period.
  • Build agile, automated IAM solutions that meet security and audit requirements by default, embedding controls into everyday workflows.
  • Advance role-based and attribute-based access models and explore non-human identity and AI agent governance.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in access governance, audit remediation, identity lifecycle controls, or automation within the first 60 days.
