About The Position

This role is responsible for asset protection within distribution centers (DCs) and fulfillment centers (FCs). The Senior Manager I, Asset Protection will lead discussions, influence stakeholders, and leverage data to identify problems and find solutions. They will also be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, employee health and safety, risk management, and asset protection security. This includes developing and implementing security measures, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role also involves process improvement, training delivery, stakeholder collaboration, and environmental protection. The Senior Manager will drive business plans and projects, provide supervision and development opportunities for associates, and ensure business needs are met. They will also uphold company values, act with integrity, serve customers, and strive for excellence through continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice; Occupational Safety Management; Audit or related field OR 5 years' experience in Asset Protection, Audit, Investigations, or Environmental, Health and Safety within Supply Chain, Retail, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 3 years' experience in Asset Protection or related field in Retail, Supply Chain or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Verbal/nonverbal behaviors, communication styles/techniques, situational awareness, communication channels/mediums, interpersonal skills, and universal relationship building.
  • Knowledge of Data collection modes, techniques, and tools, data analytics, data visualization tools and techniques, digital applications and systems, technology innovation trends, and industry benchmarks.
  • Knowledge of Organizational processes, root cause analysis techniques, department workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and One Best Way (OBW) processes.
  • Knowledge of Business case development, problem-solving techniques, workflows, and processes of the assigned business area.
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines, compliance, safety and food safety auditing processes, regulatory inspection processes, and emergency evacuations plans.
  • Knowledge of Risk management processes, risk assessment reports, and risk management tools.
  • Knowledge of Asset protection policies, practices, and guidelines, environmental health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Workflow mapping processes, continuous improvement principles, and control definition techniques.
  • Knowledge of Training methodologies, training content development processes, and organizational training lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of Stakeholder identification, stakeholder communication, stakeholder engagement techniques, stakeholder management effectiveness tools and methods, and specialized business vernacular.
  • Knowledge of Environmental policies and procedures, applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations involving the environment, macro-level trends on the assigned facility's environmental impacts and assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discussions with varying viewpoints and influence audiences across divisions.
  • Leverage fact-based data and analytics to build a cohesive narrative and present clear, concise arguments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business partners, influencing them to take necessary actions.
  • Identify problems, leverage data to determine root causes, and apply information to find solutions.

  • Work to improve employee health and safety processes.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA standards and design emergency evacuation plans.
  • Evaluate the performance and stability of protective systems and equipment in accident management.
  • Serve as a facility contact for emergency health and safety regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with third-party audits and develop/present audit findings.
  • Respond to inquiries by regulatory authorities.
  • Evaluate risk assessment models and analysis tools against existing business activities.
  • Assess the benefits and risks of various risk management models.
  • Design cross-functional risk management processes, tools, and audit mechanisms.

  • Work with major types of premises security practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Detect and investigate unusual or complex loss and shrink incidents.
  • Streamline critical workflows for executing key processes.
  • Develop methods for improving and establishing controls for critical processes.
  • Monitor external sources for applicable new methods and controls.
  • Set priorities for addressing process problems that limit performance.
  • Coach team members to develop skills to improve processes.
  • Analyze findings from improvement cycles to ensure the success of interventions.
  • Review incident investigations, root cause analysis, and countermeasure solutions.
  • Deliver training modules from existing lesson plans.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of modules and lesson plans.
  • Advise on learning principles and deliver relevant examples.
  • Analyze feedback and suggestions from course developers on potential improvements.
  • Ensure team members and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
  • Engage with team members periodically and establish credibility.

  • Assist in integrating environmental considerations into process design.
  • Interpret and evaluate compliance status reports and relevant risk management practices.
  • Assist in the development of company policies, practices, and procedures relating to environmental risks.
  • Implement environmental policies and practices and ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance, providing resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly, developing contingency plans, and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
