About The Position

Global Trader Communications, within Scotiabank’s Global Technology Solutions (GTS) Solutions Integration & Delivery (SI&D) organization, focuses on understanding Scotiabank's business lines and technologies. The team collaborates with global CIOs and business lines to deliver high-quality, reliable enterprise solutions in an agile and cost-effective manner, while adhering to the bank’s security standards and policies. The Senior Manager, Global Trader Communications will lead a regional team of IT professionals and subject matter experts responsible for all Data and Trader Voice technologies. This role has global accountability for voice recording technology within Global Trader Voice and for all business partners, working in collaboration with HR, Compliance, Legal, and other IT Groups. The position reports to the Director, Global Operations, Global Trader Communications, Archive and Surveillance Platform Management within GTS-GBM Voice Services. Travel outside the LATAM Region may be required, and the role involves 24/7 on-call support for staff, after-hours problem resolution, and system validation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in desktop Applications and support.
  • 5 years' experience in Trader Voice and/or communication technologies, or equivalent.
  • 5+ Years of Voice Recording technology.
  • Strong communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English and Spanish.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on working experience in a people management position within Trader Voice, Recording and/or Information Technology or Desk top technology.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of compliance policies, as well as trading practices & workflows relative to the trading businesses.
  • At least 5+ years of progressive working knowledge or experience in Data and Voice at an enterprise scale with industry-recognized tools (e.g., Turrets like BT, IPC, Cloud9, etc.…); Voice Recording software (e.g., Verint, NICE, Redbox, etc.); and Cisco CUCM.
  • Possess superior decision-making skills to resolve work issues with the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills to build critical relationships with internal technology & business stakeholders and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thorough leadership to a regional team of high-performance IT professionals and subject matter experts for all Data and Trader Voice technologies-related activities.
  • Have global accountability of voice recording technology within Global Trader Voice and for all business partners working in collaboration with HR, Compliance, Legal, and other IT Groups.
  • Support the trading floors in LATAM (Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay and Peru) working in Toronto supporting Remotely.
  • Provide support for other Global Trader Voice teams globally.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Global Trader Voice operating model to address voice preservation within Global operating centers, particularly in Capital Markets, Sales and Trading environments.
  • Drive the direction of the team and meet/achieve Data and Voice technologies objectives.
  • Collaborate with the business, along with technical and operational groups across the Bank to ensure alignment of technical solutions to the business strategy, use and deployment of best practices in business support solutions, and the alignment and application of Bank operational and security standards.
  • Manage the workflow associated with producing voice recordings and evidence for standard and complex global requests.
  • Standardize and consolidate voice recording technology, preservation and extraction processes by working with global teams.
  • Participate and engage bank executives in voice-related agendas, including developing presentations and assisting with communications with Bank regulators and compliance groups.
  • Maintain a global operating model, ensuring data integrity, and responding effectively while engaging with HR, eDiscovery, and Legal on managing discovery requests for IT.
  • Ensure system availability and data integrity.
  • Work with the Regulatory Business Initiatives group, Internal Controls Group, SI&D Service Management leads, and Vendors to define the scope, intake, and building of integrations with various communication platforms, support Scenario development, and testing automation.
  • Work with vendors and internal partners to get appropriate reviews and approvals for the solutions being developed.
