About The Position

As a Senior Manager, Treasury, you will play a critical role in shaping our strategic direction while ensuring a well-managed operational environment. You will be at the forefront of identifying and mitigating risks, overseeing a team of treasury professionals, and acting as a key partner to our Senior Director. The ideal candidate will bring a horizontal mindset, an analytical eye, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional coordination. With an increasing volume of complex cash management requests, we are looking for a strategic thinker who can design robust funding strategies while maintaining flawless execution and a strong control environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 7 years’ experience in financial analysis
  • At least 7 years’ experience with financial modeling
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
  • At least 1 year of people management experience
  • Proactiveness: Independently identify and implement solutions to enhance process efficiency, data quality, and financial controls.
  • Ownership: Take end-to-end responsibility for the Capital One Travel Treasury Strategy in partnership with the Head of Business Operations.
  • Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Product, and Risk teams to modernize treasury infrastructure.
  • Leadership: Influence and steer execution to shift workflows from reactive to proactive, ensuring resilient and scalable financial processes.
  • Creativity: Identify strategic opportunities within treasury operations and implement timely, effective enhancements
  • Innovation: Leverage large datasets to drive automated solutions that significantly increase overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Quantitative Rigor: Apply deep analytical and mathematical expertise to evaluate complex financial data, ensuring precise and data-backed decisions for treasury strategies.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving strategic thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:
  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights
  • Partner with business leadership to assess the financial implications of ongoing efforts to grow the organization
  • Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • 1+ year of people management experience managing both direct and indirect reports
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Own liquidity and cash management, cash forecasting methodology, treasury KPIs and dashboards, funding strategy, and bank account strategy and controls.
  • Drive strategic decision-making to support an increased volume of specialized cash management requests and initiatives
  • Manage internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, serving as the primary bridge between Treasury and cross-divisional teams, external partners, and financial institutions.
  • Own the Treasury control environment, ensuring the flawless execution of activities. Establish the segregation of duties necessary to implement robust controls, reduce operational risks, and enable proactive liquidity management.
  • Challenge the status quo by identifying process improvements, optimizing cash flow trends, and driving automation opportunities to mitigate potential risks.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team (including Associates and Senior Associates). Invest in continuous learning, talent development, and performance management to ensure long-term retention and career growth.
  • Lead the creation of materials, analysis, and presentations for senior leaders and cross-functional partners, providing proactive communication and reporting on treasury initiatives.
  • Manage a team (typically 2 – 6 people) to provide finance oversight and support to a business unit.
  • Produce monthly financial reports and variance explanations to help the business measure business performance.
  • Develop the annual operating plan for the business and manage the quarterly assessment process.
  • Review and approve investment analysis and decisions, oversee financial processes, and provide input to the business to help the business achieve objectives.
