About The Position

The Senior Manager, External Affairs Compliance and Events is an integrated member of the Universal Destinations and Experiences team dedicated to the successful execution of events for Government Relations, Community Relations and the Universal Orlando Foundation. This role will lead all aspects of event management from compliance approvals from Comcast/NBCU Political Affairs, budgeting, planning, execution and any post event reporting of all events that support the company’s External Affairs Department. This role will support our Community Relations activities by serving as representatives for an Employee Resource Group, they will develop and maintain relationships with our Partner Schools in Orlando and support key Community Relations initiatives like Art of Tomorrow. This role will also support New Venture External Affairs teams with planning and executing events leading up to Grand Opening activities.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience with event and budget management required
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within departments
  • Detail oriented and follow Comcast and NBCU compliance guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Manages all special events and budgets for Government Relations, Community Relations and the Universal Orlando Foundation including UDX, Comcast and NBCU. Representing the team with internal stakeholders in Catering, Entertainment, Operations, Event Management, Security and our hotel partner, Loews.
  • Manage all compliance requests and approvals according to Comcast and NBCU policies for External Affairs for all locations worldwide. Manage submissions and track all approvals and data needed. This includes approvals for: Government Relations special events any State/County/City requests or those coming from any elected official/staff, political contributions or any other requests of a political nature. Donations to any state funded school or university. Community Relations special events or projects that are funded or may have guests of any State/County/City staff or elected official. Other donations of tickets or other in-kind items. Other requests for civil servants such as police/fireman/college administrators or professors. Track and report in-kind totals to organization and Comcast Political Affairs
  • Provide guidance and assist in planning New Venture events with External Affairs team
  • The team will also be responsible for Political Giving in coordination with Government Relations leadership.
  • Participates as an active member of internal teams such as the UO Team Member Resource Group.
  • Serve as key contact for local school partnerships including Art for Tomorrow Program. Ensure annual goals are established and implemented. Execute events and park visits for participating schools.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
