Requirements

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience implementing environmental compliance programs
  • 3 years of supervisory/management experience in a team-focused environment
  • Experience interpreting and applying state and federal environmental regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability or related field or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 8 + years of experience implementing environmental compliance programs
  • Project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of Site and District Safety Managers within a high-volume, automated supply chain environment; partner closely with Operations leadership to achieve key safety and performance objectives across all shifts.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture within a high automation and PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) environment, ensuring safe interactions between associates, equipment, and automated systems
  • Lead and standardize case management processes, ensuring timely reporting, thorough investigation, and effective resolution of all incidents, injuries, and near misses
  • Oversee and enhance the onsite Athletic Trainer (AT) program, driving early intervention, injury prevention, ergonomic support, and effective return-to-work programs
  • Recognize and promote top safety performers to strengthen engagement and reinforce a culture of accountability and ownership
  • Identify trends and opportunities through data analysis (recordables, near misses, ergonomic risks) and provide clear, actionable direction to site and regional leadership
  • Develop and lead cross-functional safety initiatives to support a zero-incident culture, partnering with Operations, Engineering, HR, and Maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards, with a strong emphasis on PIT safety, automation safeguards, lockout/tagout, and material handling processes
  • Drive consistent execution of safety audits, risk assessments, and Gemba walks; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with training teams to ensure robust onboarding and ongoing certification for PIT operators, automation technicians, and all safety-critical roles
  • Ensure all incidents, injuries, and regulatory matters are thoroughly investigated, root causes identified (RCCA), and sustainable corrective actions implemented
  • Establish clear goals and performance expectations for safety teams; coach leaders to use structured problem-solving methodologies (A3, RCCA) to drive long-term improvements
  • Collaborate with site leadership to integrate safety into daily operations, reinforcing that safety is a core value embedded in all processes—not a priority that shifts
