About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Senior Manager Enterprise Performance Reporting is responsible for enabling enterprise‑wide financial insight through standardized metrics, robust data dimensionality, and centralized reporting capabilities across laboratories and business units. Focuses on improving comparability, transparency, and decision support by aligning finance data structures, performance reporting, and governance across the organization. Serves as a bridge between accounting, FP&A, operational finance, and business leadership, ensuring that financial information is consistent, trusted, and actionable at scale. Key deliverables include enterprise metrics, common data definitions, centralized reporting models, and cross‑lab comparability frameworks that support management, executive leadership, and external reporting needs. This is a full-time, hybrid (3 days a week in office) position located at either our Northbrook, IL or Chicago, IL office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive finance and/or accounting experience, including senior leadership roles.
  • Proven experience designing enterprise reporting, metrics, and finance data models in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong background partnering with FP&A and business leaders on performance management and analytics.
  • Deep understanding of ERP, EPM, and finance reporting systems and data structures.
  • Experience operating within global, matrixed, or multi‑business environments.
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Strong governance mindset, sound judgment, and enterprise orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and govern standardized financial and operational metrics to drive consistent performance measurement across the global organization.
  • Design scalable finance data models and dimensions (e.g., lab, service line, geography, customer, contract, expense type) that support analytics, comparability, and management reporting.
  • Build centralized reporting frameworks and common views that deliver a single source of truth for executive and finance leadership.
  • Establish consistent reporting structures and assumptions to enable transparent performance comparisons across laboratories and business units.
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Accounting, IT, and business leaders to align management reporting with financial results and strategic priorities.
  • Leverage ERP, EPM, and reporting platforms to enhance finance analytics, drill‑through, and insight delivery—without owning routine accounting operations.
  • Set clear governance over metrics, data definitions, and reporting standards to ensure consistency, auditability, and long‑term scalability.
  • Drive enterprise adoption of standardized reporting through strong communication, training, and executive engagement.
  • Ensure that centralized reporting and metrics remain aligned with GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, and disclosure considerations, in partnership with controllership.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing team focused on enterprise thinking, accountability, and delivery of decision‑ready insights. Manages the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices
