About The Position

This job contributes to REI’s success by leading a team of Senior Program Managers who serve as re-deployable resources to advance REI’s highest-priority enterprise initiatives. This leader drives program excellence, governance, and alignment to REI’s strategic and operational goals—ensuring programs are planned, resourced, and executed with discipline and measurable impact. In addition, this role leads program management for the enterprise operating calendar and acts as the center of excellence and community lead for Program Management across the co-op, while overseeing the enterprise PM team established to support the highest-priority initiatives. This role combines strategic thinking, strong communication, and cross-functional leadership to navigate complexity and accelerate delivery. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in program management, including at least 5 years leading people and cross-functional initiatives.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification.
  • Proven record of delivering large-scale, enterprise-wide programs on time, within budget, and with measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong background working within or alongside retail, consumer goods, or multi-channel organizations, with a solid understanding of how enterprise operations connect—from product creation to customer experience.
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance frameworks, operating rhythms, and executive reporting practices.
  • Strong strategic thinking, influencing, and communication skills with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated agility in adapting plans to changing priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Willingness to relocate to Greater Seattle area if not already located within the area (relocation assistance available)

Responsibilities

  • Define program objectives, scope, and success criteria aligned with enterprise strategy and long-term business goals.
  • Lead program management for enterprise operating calendar, and act as center of excellence and community lead for Program Management across the co-op.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure progress, quality, and program impact. Provide clear, data-driven reporting to senior leadership on progress, risks, and performance against success metrics.
  • Facilitate collaboration across merchandising, supply chain, store operations, IT, finance, and other enterprise teams to enable cohesive execution. Influence and engage senior stakeholders through strong communication and shared decision-making.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact timelines, budgets, or business outcomes including structured issue management and escalation processes that balance speed and effectiveness in resolution.
  • Manage program budgets and financial performance with discipline and transparency.
  • Partner with change management teams to ensure readiness, adoption, and sustainability of program outcomes.
