Senior Manager, Employee Engagement

ClioVancouver, BC
CA$124,000 - CA$186,000Hybrid

About The Position

Clio is seeking a Senior Manager, Employee Engagement to join their Employee Experience team. This role is responsible for designing, measuring, and improving employee experiences that foster connection, celebration, and belonging within a global, distributed workforce. The position requires a strategic operator who can balance high-level direction with hands-on execution, and who has experience leading engagement, events, or culture programs in a global environment. The ideal candidate will be a player-coach, ready to lead and develop a team, and possess a genuine curiosity about AI and its applications in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience designing and owning employee engagement, gathering, or culture programs — ideally in a distributed or global organization.
  • Experience as a player-coach: able to set strategy and stay hands-on in a lean team.
  • A measurement mindset — able to tie people programs to business outcomes and communicate impact to senior leaders.
  • Strong cross-functional instincts and judgment navigating ambiguity and competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Experience managing a team of program managers.
  • Genuine AI fluency — you actively use AI tools in your day-to-day work and can help your team do the same.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience owning a large-scale all-company event (1,000+ employees).
  • Familiarity with Peakon, Bonusly, or similar engagement/recognition platforms.
  • Experience building programming that scales across multiple offices, time zones, or post-acquisition entities.
  • Background in both in-person and remote/distributed employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Act as DRI for Team Day, Clio’s annual all-company conference — owning end-to-end planning, execution, and cross-functional committee leadership.
  • Design and deliver recurring connection programming including Summer Socials and seasonal moments throughout the year.
  • Lead wellness and wellbeing initiatives that support a healthy, high-performing culture.
  • Own the intentional-gathering strategy for Anchor Days under our Distributed by Design (DxD) model — the programming, purpose, and rhythms that build connection and collaboration worth showing up for.
  • Own the Remote Employee Experience: how distributed and remote Clions connect, belong, and thrive, including Remote Community Days.
  • Design and manage global recognition programs spanning peer recognition (Bonusly), milestones, anniversaries, and culture awards — ensuring they land consistently across all regions and entities.
  • Define success before you launch — name the metric for every program, then own outcomes in Peakon, participation data, and connection/belonging signals.
  • Lead and develop the Employee Engagement team (currently Mitch — Events & Experiences; Tasha — Recognition; Lorena — program coordination).
  • Partner with Workplace Experience, the People Leadership Team, and senior stakeholders to integrate engagement best practices across the organization.
