About The Position

The Senior Manager, Communications provides strategic communications leadership for Sun Life’s Corporate Real Estate (CRE) function. This role leads communications that enable Sun Life’s workplace, portfolio and capital initiatives across regions, helping employees and leaders navigate change while reinforcing Sun Life’s purpose, values and workplace strategy. CRE plays a central role in shaping Sun Life’s global workplace experience. This role ensures CRE’s work is clearly communicated, well understood and aligned with employee experience, operational priorities and Sun Life’s enterprise strategy.

Requirements

  • 5 - 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate or internal communications
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders and operating in a global, matrixed environment
  • Strong background in communications delivering large scale operational initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex, technical or regionally diverse information into clear, consistent and audience appropriate communications
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills, with comfort managing competing global priorities
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence across regions and cultures
  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Provide trusted communications advice to Global CRE leaders on workplace strategy, portfolio management and capital programs across multiple geographies
  • Develop and deliver communications strategies that support business objectives, regional needs and enterprise priorities
  • Build and strengthen the CRE brand to help business partners easily understand, access and navigate CRE services in support of their strategic and operational needs
  • Lead communications planning and execution for global CRE initiatives, including office relocations, site consolidations, space strategy changes, workplace standards and capital investments
  • Support leaders and employees through change by developing clear messaging, FAQs and employee communications tailored to global and regional audiences
  • Develop and maintain a global communications framework to ensure consistent messaging, governance and experience across all regions
  • Lead the development of high-quality, audience appropriate communications materials, including employee updates, leadership updates, intranet design & content, presentations and briefing notes where applicable
  • Manage multiple global communications workstreams aligned to CRE project milestones, risks and delivery timelines
  • Establish and maintain communications metrics to assess effectiveness, guide continuous improvement and support data‑driven decision making
  • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports, matrixed team members and external communications partners/vendors, ensuring clear roles, high-quality deliverables and strong alignment across global CRE initiatives
