About The Position

The Senior Manager, Commercial Capacity Management is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of global capacity inventory management and capacity assignment processes across space and power. Reporting to the VP, Capacity Strategy, this role oversees inventory visibility, governance adherence, reporting accuracy, and operational coordination with Sales and Operations. This leader ensures disciplined execution of holds, reservations, commits, and releases while optimizing utilization, minimizing stranded capacity, and supporting revenue acceleration. The role manages a team of inventory and capacity professionals and serves as a key operational partner in enabling deal velocity and portfolio efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of data center capacity management across space, power, and cooling.
  • Solid understanding of capacity assignment governance and inventory lifecycle processes.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate inventory data into operational and commercial insights.
  • Experience managing teams in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Sales, Operations, and Planning teams.
  • High attention to detail with disciplined process orientation.
  • Ability to balance commercial urgency with portfolio optimization objectives.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills suitable for senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in inventory management, capacity planning, infrastructure operations, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing cross-functional operational processes.
  • Experience with enterprise planning systems such as DCIM, CRM/CPQ, ERP, and analytics platforms.
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Operate computer, peripherals and other office equipment.
  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing and bending.
  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone or computer based telecommunication system
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments
  • Availability across global time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage global capacity inventory tracking across campus and building levels, ensuring accurate and timely visibility of space and power.
  • Oversee execution of capacity assignment processes (holds, reservations, commits, releases) in alignment with governance standards.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering to support opportunity evaluation and ensure timely allocation decisions.
  • Monitor utilization, fragmentation, and oversubscription risks; recommend optimization or reallocation strategies.
  • Ensure integrity and alignment of inventory data across DCIM, CRM/CPQ, ERP, and planning systems.
  • Develop and deliver standardized inventory reports and dashboards for operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Lead weekly capacity review forums and contribute inventory insights to monthly portfolio reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory workflows, reporting processes, and data quality controls.
  • Develop, mentor, and manage a team of capacity and inventory analysts/specialists.
