About The Position

The Chief Control Office, reporting into RBC’s CFO Group, oversees key risk management programs including Operational Risk, Culture and Conduct Risk, SOX Compliance, and the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Program. The team is responsible for the design and execution of these programs, supporting CFO Group objectives by systematically evaluating and improving risk management, controls, and governance processes impacting the CFO Group and, in some cases, all of RBC. The Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance Management will support the Director, Regulatory Compliance Management in leading activities for the CFO Group’s RCM Program. This role will manage the Functions Compliance Oversight and the Business and Market Conduct and Privacy Risk Programs, providing subject matter expertise on regulatory compliance and control matters.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or accounting/finance
  • Knowledge of the functions oversight/reliance model in regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record as a valued advisor with the ability to provide constructive challenge

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and maintenance of all RCM processes, ensuring alignment with RBC RCM Standards and policies, accurate documentation, and availability of compliant tools and templates for CFO Group members.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of regulatory requirements, impact assessments, controls, and risk assessments across all regional risk areas.
  • Identify new risk areas and integrate them into the RCM Program.
  • Interpret and provide guidance on Enterprise Compliance requirements and RCM Policy and Standards to global CFO Group teams.
  • As the 2nd Line Assurance lead, design, implement, and execute quality review, monitoring, and oversight processes to ensure CFO Group processes, controls, and documentation meet RBC expectations.
  • Provide training on regulatory compliance management best practices to CFO Group risk areas.
  • Collaborate with partners across the CFO Group, Enterprise Compliance, and other RBC Functional teams to interpret program requirements, share best practices, and evaluate risks and controls.
  • Leverage specialized subject matter expertise to provide timely, cost-effective, and innovative solutions to improve risk management processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Advise CFO Senior Leaders on significant or emerging regulatory compliance risks and issues, identifying root causes, assessing implications, and recommending/tracking corrective actions.
  • Incorporate new CFO Group teams into the RCM Program and assess the impact of new policy and standard requirements on CFO Group programs, processes, and controls.
