About The Position

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Senior Manager to work on our F&SS Maintenance team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities area. This position reports to the Director, F&SS Maintenance.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 11 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience or Master’s degree and 6 years of experience or High School diploma/GED and 15 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience is required.
  • Relevant experience includes progressively responsible experience in maintenance, operations, nuclear, or skilled craft/trades organizations, including technical, supervisory, and/or management roles.
  • Prior experience managing represented (union) employees is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" clearance, which requires US citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing other managers is preferred.
  • Experience working at a government contractor such as a Department of Energy (DOE) laboratory, the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP), or similar highly regulated environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities of a department or a discipline through subordinate supervisors and professionals. Provide guidance to your team within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Responsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to our organization. Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influence methods and techniques.
  • Execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce planning. Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
  • Manage supervisors, exempt, and non-exempt represented and non-represented staff, including (but not limited to): carpenters, painters, electricians, welders, fitters, mechanics, heavy equipment operators, equipment operators, laborers, and custodians.
  • As part of managing a represented workforce, must collaborate effectively with union leadership and Labor Relations teams.
  • Receive objective-based assignments and determine resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Set and assist with strategy development for maintenance organization. Align and coordinate work activities across various directorates and locations.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the department or multiple disciplines.
  • Help develop overall goals and long-term goals of the department and possibly the division.
  • Work with subordinate supervisors, customers, and functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units.
  • Partner with main contacts outside own area of expertise and other external partners.
  • Communicate results and recommendations across disciplines.
