About The Position

The RBC Credit Strategy team is hiring for a Senior Manager – Cards Credit Strategy & Portfolio Management to lead Retail Cards credit risk analytics. You will use advanced analytics to identify emerging risk signals, shape the credit risk narrative for the Cards business.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive analytics experience, preferably performing advanced risk analytics and strategy design for lending products
  • Expert problem solving skills including understanding of credit risk fundamentals and financial modelling
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with modern analytical tools and technology stacks; Python, GitHub, AWS, HDFS, etc.
  • Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Python (Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn) and Tableau
  • Ability to develop effective and collaborative relationships (e.g. with stakeholders, credit bureaus, and remote teams)
  • Ability to design and deliver compelling presentations to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and accurate work with the ability to multitask and shift priorities
  • University degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g. statistics, engineering, economics, finance, computer science) – to demonstrate ability for critical thinking, data analytics and financial modeling

Responsibilities

  • Use data mining, profitability modelling and business intuition to inform lending decisions for Retail Cards credit programs such as Line Management and Acquisitions
  • Translate credit risk insights into actionable business levers, and partner with stakeholders to optimize the profitability of RBC’s retail credit card portfolio by analyzing, designing, and recommending credit strategies
  • Engage senior management and Group Risk Management partners to refine and execute said strategies
  • Build financial models to simulate financial outcomes of strategy decisions, measure true outcomes against expectations and drive continuous improvement from findings
  • Foundational Testing, Challenger/Champion and other testing methodologies
  • Support the attraction, development and establishment of a highly talented analytical credit team
  • Design and implement management systems to foster and develop a best-in-class credit analyst team
  • Test new methodologies and tools to enhance models and strategies, and drive innovation within credit strategy frameworks and infrastructure
