About The Position

The Senior Manager, Benefits involves comprehensive management of diverse organizational benefit solutions, with a focus on medical and prescription drug plan management, alongside expertise in data analytics and reporting. Decisions will be informed by in-depth knowledge of claims analysis and data analytics. Effective management of consultant and vendor partnerships is pivotal for steering the benefits delivery strategy in both the short and long term. The candidate will play a direct role in plan design management, decision-making, and proposing cost-effective solutions that mutually benefit the company and colleagues. These skills contribute to shaping the onboarding and ongoing benefits communication strategy, as well as the development of execution plans. Additionally, this colleague will undertake other necessary duties.

Requirements

  • Data Analytics: In-depth knowledge of claims analysis and data analytics for evidence-based decision-making.
  • Plan Management: Experience in managing self-insured claims, eligibility data, and day-to-day benefits administration.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop effective communication plans.
  • Vendor and Project Management: Demonstrated skills in managing consultant and vendor partnerships, as well as collaborating on projects.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to partner with internal Legal, Labor, Tax, and cross-functional teams to build effective benefit programs.
  • Strategic Thinking: Analytic and strategic mindset with a track record of fostering collaborative partnerships and identifying strategic opportunities.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong budgetary management skills, including tracking, reporting, and proposing cost-effective benefit solutions.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) with the ability to manipulate data in Excel. Collaborative experience with technology and administrative teams.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Highly organized with attention to detail, ensuring accurate maintenance of leadership dashboard reports and benefit program insights.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make administrative and financial decisions independently. Proven track record of providing recommendations and driving necessary adjustments to benefit program designs.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft reports and other communications; present to management and internal and external business partners; interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of self-insured claims, eligibility data, and day-to-day benefits administration.
  • Identify, track, and measure the impact of programs on colleagues, providing insights for recommended adjustments to benefit program designs.
  • Handle budgetary management, tracking, and reporting, collaborating with internal Legal, Labor, Tax, and cross-functional teams to develop effective programs for plan participants.
  • Collaborate with Macy’s Technology and Administrative teams to execute new initiatives.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with applicants for necessary information and documentation.
  • Create and maintain leadership dashboard reports on benefit programs.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive communication plans for internal education and engagement.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and propose design enhancements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a multi-faceted environment, making administrative and financial decisions.
  • Ensure regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
