About The Position

The Senior Manager, Account Management is responsible for leading, managing, and coaching a team of 3-5 Account Managers, as well as owning a key portfolio of accounts for the agency. This includes ensuring successful delivery of digital marketing services across their team’s book of business - and managing the overall efficiency, revenue growth, strategic direction, and profitability for their portfolio of clients. This position requires a strategic, innovative, and organized leader that can inspire teams and streamline efforts cross-functionally. This individual can identify solutions to complex business needs and manage client escalations to retain accounts and drive growth. The Senior Manager fosters collaboration, builds relationships, and achieves stakeholder buy-in, both internally and externally, to deliver satisfaction and value to 829’s clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in account management, preferably in a digital marketing agency
  • A minimum of 2 years managing direct reports
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing principles, including PPC, social media, SEO, email marketing, and content marketing
  • Proven experience managing key client relationships / key stakeholders and developing account growth strategies
  • Ability to analyze data and develop insights to optimize campaign performance
  • Ability to design analyses with extensive record-level datasets, encompassing advertising impressions, site visitation, and online and offline sales data.
  • Demonstrated expertise in distilling complex insights into clear, logical, and defensible conclusions
  • Ability to think strategically, execute effectively, and deliver high-quality work against tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PR is a plus
  • Experience with client relationship management tools (such as Salesforce, HubSpot or Marketo)
  • Experience in agile project management methodologies is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and coach 3-5 account managers of varying seniority, providing guidance, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.
  • Lead weekly team meetings.
  • Encourage a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Run SWOT analyses.
  • Oversee team projects that help improve the department’s operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on team performance for CS leaders.
  • Support the team with client deliverables (including QBR presentations).
  • Conduct individual weekly check-ins and reviews.
  • Provide clear feedback, and establish goals and objectives.
  • Directly own a portfolio of ~5-6 accounts.
  • Serve as a strategic leader within the Account Management department, contributing extensive expertise in digital strategy and omnichannel marketing.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in account management and digital marketing.
  • Transform brand strategies into digital experiences that captivate and engage audiences.
  • Develop and manage client relationships, serving as a strategic partner and trusted advisor.
  • Communicate 829’s value proposition, capabilities, and processes to help grow current and prospective accounts.
  • Oversee and manage the strategy and execution of paid and organic campaigns (across search, social, display, email, content, design, and programmatic) to drive client satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • Direct and manage daily workflow from strategy and development to execution, maintenance, and optimizations.
  • Leverage experience in leading cross-functional teams/projects to ensure client needs are met and projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Demonstrate expertise in managing team and client utilization, optimizing resources, and ensuring efficient project planning within a digital marketing setting.
  • Review client deliverables for quality, ensuring recommendations and work products are sound and viable.
  • Achieve KPIs for clients and demonstrate value externally through ongoing reporting and business reviews, providing data insights, predictive analysis, and strategic planning on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist with generating new revenue from existing clients by upselling and cross-selling.
  • Implement tools and processes for enhanced account management and provide comprehensive training for the team.
