The Senior Maintenance Worker provides maintenance and repair services for multiple residential homes. The role involves routinely inspecting properties, furniture, and appliances to identify needed repairs; determining whether repairs should be completed in-house or by an outside service provider; and assessing the best course of action for ongoing repairs. The worker provides or arranges lawn care and snow removal, purchases tools, supplies, parts, and small equipment, and performs or arranges seasonal maintenance. Seasonal tasks include removing storm windows, clearing rain gutters, checking and replacing furnace, air-conditioner, and air-exchanger filters, cleaning air vents, and maintaining sump pumps, smoke detectors, and other household equipment. The position also maintains and services program vehicles and arranges outside maintenance and repairs when appropriate. It obtains bids for capital improvements to program properties and completes documentation such as maintenance checklists, mileage reimbursement forms, work orders, purchase and receipt records, purchase-card reviews, and other required forms. All work is to be completed with appreciation that the properties are homes for people with disabilities. Pay is $25 per hour, with a $2,000 hiring bonus subject to eligibility requirements: at least 40% FTE, staying current on trainings, maintaining employment in good standing, and working all scheduled shifts.
