About The Position

At Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling, you can build a long-term career in maintenance with a clear path from entry-level roles to advanced technical and leadership positions. Gain hands-on experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment while developing skills in mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and automation. The Senior Maintenance Technician ensures equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures. Shares knowledge of all production equipment to maintenance team and Operators. Acts as a subject matter expert in at least one of the following machine centers: warmers, seamers, blow molders, fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, palletizers and stretch wrappers. Works directly with Maintenance Technicians, OTs, SOTs, Area Specialists, Supervisors, and Managers to resolve mechanical issues. Using preventative and predictive maintenance processes, drives up time and ensures high equipment reliability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of five years of maintenance technician experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of VFDs, servo motors, fillers, presses, electrical systems and HVAC systems
  • Proficiency with shop equipment (presses, grinders, drill press, mill, lathe) and precision measuring tools (calipers, dial indicators, bore and depth gauges).
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members, provide real-time technical support during operations, create standardized procedures, and serve as a technical subject matter expert within assigned equipment or process areas.
  • Effective communication skills to clearly convey issues and solutions across departments and levels.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SAP

Nice To Haves

  • technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • Industrial refrigeration, process cooling and HVAC exposure.
  • Experience with Vision Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for designated equipment, processes, or technologies.
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions for recurring equipment issues to minimize downtime and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Perform corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and to eliminate recurring system failures.
  • Provide technical assistance and support during production runs and changeovers.
  • Mentor and train maintenance and production personnel to elevate technical skill and equipment knowledge.
  • Transfer knowledge to team members by developing Standard Operating Procedures within assigned areas of expertise.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, performance, and throughput.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain best practices, maintenance strategies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to plan and execute overhauls, upgrades, and reliability initiatives during planned downtime.
  • Collaborate with key plant personnel and OEMs to resolve cross functional and systemic issues.
  • Utilize real time data driven software to analyze performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures; actively support a safe work environment and report hazards.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and GMP standards.
